Aside from hosting some of daytime's most eccentric characters, Passions also hosts many of its most alluring and beautiful people. Small wonder then that so many of them got their first experiences in front of the cameras while working in the world of advertising. Long before advertisements for cosmetics, DirecTV and KY-Jelly were regularly integrated into conversations, the actors on the show were having a more direct experience working to sell products.

Before making her way to Harmony, Lindsay Hartley (Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald) was already on TV. Mind you, it was only on local TV. As a teenager, she began appearing in spots for her parents' Las Vegas store before moving on to a career performing at casinos. Similarly, Andrea Evans (Rebecca Hotchkiss) began her career at the age of 16 when she started appearing in commercials on her local channel in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. Her on-screen daughter, Liza Huber (Gwen Hotchkiss) appeared in an ad with her real-life mother, Susan Lucci, for Ford in 1993. Heidi Mueller (Kay Bennett) recently appeared in a commercial for Crest White Strips. Emily Harper (Fancy Crane) was the star of a Mike's Hard Lemonade commercial which aired over the summer of 2004, Dana Sparks (Grace Bennett) appeared in a Coca Cola ad and Kathleen Noone (Edna Wallace) was the face for an advertising campaign by Brim coffee that ran in the early '80s. Meanwhile, Erin Cardillo (Esme Vanderheusen) could be seen in an infomercial for "Freeze 24-7" wrinkle treatment.

Passions' men have had an equally impressive career in commercials. Before making the leap into daytime, Charles Divins (Chad Crane) was a successful model gracing magazines covers from Cosmopolitan to GQ and appearing in ads for Tommy Hilfiger among other companies. James Hyde (Sam Bennett) also had a successful career as a scantily clad model. Adrian Bellani (Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald) showed up in a Pepsi ad alongside pop diva Christina Aguilera while Blair Redford, the actor who followed him into the role of Miguel, appeared in a commercial for K-Swiss tennis shoes in 2005. Danny Woodburn (the Demon Elf) has had a long history of appearing in commercials for everything from True Value to Burger King to Six Flags, Toyota and Dr. Pepper. Perhaps the most prolific of Passions actors to appear in ads, however, has been Galen Gering (Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald). He has reportedly appeared in more than fifty ads for everything from McDonald's to Pay Day chocolate bars. In an early interview, he related this tantalizing story about his experience working in commercials: "I did this commercial for a Dutch cookie where I was jumping on a trampoline completely naked with a girl... you can only imagine what I looked like."
