Last year, she appeared in the film The Trip, which documented Ecstasy use in the LA party scene. In the coming months she will be shooting an independent film called Las Angeles. Right now, the Peru born actress is working on her first script. That doesn't mean that she's given up performing in front of the camera, of course. Soon, the thirty-one year old Arias will be back at Telemundo and hard at work on a reality TV show which she created herself.

This week, Ms. Arias has been signed to star in a new series titled Starting Under. The series was developed by WBTV as a vehicle for established performer Bernie Mac. He will play a middle-aged man, newly divorced and working in a liquor warehouse. Arias has been cast as Rosa, an illegal immigrant from Guadalajara, who comes in conflict with Mac. The series will also star Borat's Ken Davitian. It has just started production and is expected to begin airing on Fox this fall.
