On Sunday, November the 18th, Erin Cardillo (Esme Vanderheusen), Eva Tamargo (Pilar Lopez-Fitzgerald) and James Hyde (Sam Bennett) made a glamorous trio as they arrived to accept the Diversity Award this year for Favorite Daytime Drama. This year marks the fifteenth anniversary for the awards, given out by the Multicultural Motion Picture Association. They honor individuals and projects in the entertainment industry that work to enhance the understanding of what it means to live in a diverse culture.

The event was co-hosted by entertainment correspondents Debbie Matenopoulos and Kevin Frazier and were held at the Globe Theatre in Universal Studios, California. Also on hand to receive awards for their work this past year were Brittany Snow, Elijah Kelley, Jon Heder, Mo’Nique and Leonardo DiCaprio. As the year starts to wind its way to winter, Passions is still adding to its list of awards. After picking up a hard earned Daytime Emmy, an American Scene Award and an NAACP Image Award for Tracey Ross (Eve Russell), you can add at least one more honor to the show this year. The Diversity Awards have just given Passions their Favorite Daytime Television Drama Award for 2007. This once again honors the show for its depiction of diversity and creativity. Few shows on television, daytime or any other time, are as eclectic as the cast of characters in Harmony. From ancient witches to hermaphrodites with multiple personalities to demon elves and unusually well-developed child characters, Passions provides its audience with a chance to see what it won't see anywhere else.

In other awards news, Passions casting director, Jackie Briskey, has been nominated for a Casting Society of America® ARTIOS AWARD® in the category of Daytime Episodic Casting. Casting directors have long been the unsung heroes behind-the-scenes who have brought the most beautiful and talented people onto televisions everywhere. It's their keen eyes and sensitivity that can help make or break the fabric of any show. The awards ceremony will be held on Monday November the 5th.

Soaps.com would like to extend their congratulations to Passions for receiving both of these honors and offer Jackie our wishes for the best of luck!
