    Interview With Silvana Arias!

    Monday, August 28 2006

Silvana Arias (NBC) would like to give a warm welcome to Passions very own Silvana Arias AKA Paloma Lopez-Fitzgerald-brought to you by Amy Mistretta and!

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to answer a few questions for us today!

Hi Silvana, can you please give us a little insight into the woman behind Silvana Arias the star?

"I don't think about myself as a star. I'm just a normal person who happens to work on TV and that's why people know what I do for living. I guess everybody wants to be recognized in their own field and I'm very lucky to do what I do. It's so crazy to imagine that what you do in that set is going to be seen by millions of people and you only have one chance to do it right! But basically I'm a hard worker. I love being with my friends and family. I like to travel, going to the movies, dancing, drawing and going to the beach of course!"

Can you give the fans an idea of what a normal day on the set of Passions involves for you?

"Well, the day of work starts days before when you memorize your lines. In my case, English is my second language so I need to study more than the rest of the cast. The day of the shooting you have to get there hours before starting taping so you can go through hair and makeup. Then you run lines with Maria O'Brien our acting coach and then you're ready to go. If I have time to spend I go to Heidi's [Mueller] or Cathy's [Jenen Doe] dressing room to chat and laugh a little. Once you're on set you have to be concentrated so you don't mess up."

Is there any Passions cast mate who you have predominantly enjoyed working with?

"You know what? Everybody on the show is so talented that I enjoy every single scene, even the long ones. But of course if I have to choose I would choose working with my friends. I love having scenes with Eva [Tamargo Lemus], Heidi [Mueller] and Cathy [Jenen Doe]. Now that I have scenes with Emily [Harper] I'm having a great time too although working with Galen [Gering] and James [Stevenson] can be very hard sometimes. They are always making jokes and it's hard for me not to laugh. They're sooooo funny! And I really miss having scenes with Richard [Steinmetz] and Leigh [Taylor-Young]. I learned a lot from them. If I had to choose one of the boys That's a tough one! They are all so gorgeous that I would choose them all especially if they're playing baseball with theirs shirts off!

If there were one person you could star opposite, anyone, who would it be?

"It would be someone that I could learn from. This is all new for me. I know that I've been acting for a long time in Spanish but acting in another language is very different. It's like starting all over again. I like learning and I don't feel embarrassed if I make a mistake or if a have to ask something. I do it all the time both things! There's a lot of talented people out there, famous and not famous and in both markets English and Spanish."

Have you ever performed in front of a live audience? If so, which excites you most, performing on stage or on a closed set?

"I haven't performed in front of a live audience yet. And I'm not sure I would do it!! Just to think about it I get panic attacks Some people don't understand what I'm about to explain but the thing is that I don't like people staring at me. Yeah, I know, I'm an actress I should love people looking at me ha ha ha. But the truth is that I love acting and I love soaps. I was raised watching telenovelas from three to ten! And I still watch them all. So doing soaps is the perfect combination: I can act and I only have 20 people on set doing theirs jobs so nobody is looking at me. Isn't it great?"

I see you have a degree in fashion design. Have you ever or do you see yourself creating your own line of clothing in the future?

"Yeah I've tried a couple of times to launch my own clothing line. But I'm not sure it's the perfect time for me to do it. I need to do one thing at a time so I can do it right. Passions is my priority and now the producers have given me the chance to start a very exciting storyline, so I want to do the best I can. There are a lot of changes in Paloma's life so I want to focus on that for now."

Can you tell your fans something about yourself that they would never guess?

"That I like to take naps in the afternoon, I'm allergic to chocolate, I don't like to workout but I have to and that I never speak English out of work!"

The staff at would love to hear what you think of our website. If you have time, can we get a quote from you? Thanks in advance!
