As we announced earlier, Passions has been nominated once again for the GLAAD award for Outstanding Daily Drama. The show won the award last year and was accepted by Cathy Jeneen Doe (Simone Russell). Accolades were given for the shows positive portrayal of Simones coming out to her parents as a lesbian. This is the third time Passions has been nominated in this category. The show has often been praised in the gay media and has a substantial gay and lesbian following. This year, in addition to the continuing development of Simones tragic relationship with Rae, the revelation of Chad Harris Cranes (Charles Divins) homosexuality has also come to the fore in a controversial storyline which will explode in the coming weeks after months of campy teasing.
