Spike walks down the hallway when he hears Jessica talking about Grace’s death. He walks in and tells Jessica how sorry he is about her mother. Sam doesn’t understand how he got back on the grounds. Spike tries to comfort her while Sam tells her that she needs to stop blaming Kay; they have to pull together as a family. Eve rushes in and asks Sam if it’s true. She starts crying and Jessica begins attacking her for helping Ivy; she’s as bad as Kay. Fox tries to calm her down and Spike starts defending his wife until Whitney interrupts. Eve takes her out to explain what happened. Eve will never be able to earn back Grace’s friendship now. Whitney says that Chad is missing. Eve turns back into the room and Sam asks her if the guilt is eating her alive. Jessica starts shouting again. Sam stops her, but says that she’s right. He apologizes and Jessica cries with him. Spike seems genuinely upset. Eve apologizes and everyone stares her down. Spike tells her not to worry, ‘you get used to be hated after awhile.’
Sam and Jessica are eagerly awaiting Grace’s return. As the reception progresses, he’s disappointed that she still hasn’t arrived. There was something important she had to tell him, he says to Noah before teasing him about getting married. Noah jokes that he’s waiting to be tamed by the right woman. They look over at Spike wrestling around with Jessica. He thinks that she’s boring now that she’s sober. She can’t turn the clock back though; she can’t be a goody-two shoes anymore. Jessica was happy back then. Spike tells her that she didn’t know what happiness was until she met him. He’s bored and decides to leave. A black ski mask falls out of his pocket and Jessica wonders if he’s Fancy’s rapist. She’s got to tell her dad it could be Spike.
Chris and James get tired of waiting for Sheridan to come down and decide to go home. Spike arrives and Jessica tells him he missed the ceremony, or what there was of it. He drags her in to have a drink although he says that he just had one.
Father Lonigan tells Chris and James that he's glad they're there to look after Sheridan. Paloma, Noah, Jessica and Spike all arrive. Jessica tells the father that she has a lot to make up for. Jessica is worried about Grace coming back; Spike isn't exactly an ideal son-in-law. Noah tells her not to worry about that and Spike blows him a kiss. Paloma and Noah wander around the church and he talks about how much he hopes that his mother will help Jessica get away from Spike. Paloma ask him what else he wants for Christmas. 'This,' he says as he kisses her.
Spike sneaks away to talk to Chris who tells him to stay away. Spike sizes up the gifts and imagines selling them out the back. He sits down with an uncomfortable Chris again and asks him to steal the money faster. Chris is still worried that Luis is after them, but Spike assures him that, at the moment, Luis won't be thinking about them at all. Chris asks him what he means and looks down to see a black mask sticking out of Spike's pocket.
Spike and Chris look through the hole in the floor for Fancy. In Spike's mind, Fancy had one lucky accident—lucky for them. She's dead and they're home free. Chris calls out to Fancy, holding onto hope she is yet alive. Fancy's unconscious body is sprawled on the ground..
Chris continues to call Fancy's name. Spike thinks there is no way she could have survived that fall. However, if she did, and she identifies them, he's taking Chris down with him. Chris and Spike can't see Fancy. It's pitch black down there. Spike likens it to all the horror films he's seen—the pretty blonde never makes it out. Chris still won't give up on Fancy. Spike throws a rock down the role. They never hear it land.
Chris just wants all the deaths to end. Alistair is dead so there is no more need to keep killing. Spike could care less as long as it's not him dying. Chris is more concerned because he is scared for Sheridan. Spike thinks he should be scared of Sheridan. If she finds out that Chris was working for her father, she'll throw him out in a hurry. Chris threatens to throw Spike down the hole too if he doesn't shut up.
Spike leaves Chris alone after suggesting he cover up the hole. Chris apologizes to Fancy as he lays planks across the hole.
Spike forces his kisses on Fancy. He unzips his pants. Fancy hears it and knows he is going to rape her. She stops praying and starts kicking, knocking Spike to the ground and unconscious. She yells for help. She scoots around because her feet and hands are tied. Before she can make any headway, Spike comes to. He stand over her and kicks her. She falls over. "You're going to be very sorry you did that," he thinks to himself.
Chris knows Spike has Fancy. He is afraid Spike will kill her just like he killed Phyllis. He calls Spike, interrupting him from his intent. Spike admits he has Fancy and he lets Chris know he plans on killing her after he has a little fun. Chris warns him that Luis and the whole police force are out looking for her. If they catch him, he will be better off if he doesn't hurt her. Spike has no intentions of being caught. A bat flies by and freaks Spike out. He ends the call after unknowingly giving Chris clues to his hideout. Chris is determined to find Fancy before Spike does something stupid.
Fancy begs Spike not to hurt her. Of course, Spike ignores her pleas. He keeps groping her. Chris shows up before Spike can go further. He taps Spike on the shoulder and pulls him away from Fancy. Spike wonders how he found them. Chris told him the bats gave him away. He demands he let Fancy go. Spike won't take the chance of going to jail. Fancy hears them talking. She yells for help.
Spike argues that Luis will put two and two together and figure out Chris was involved. He will take care of her his way. Chris just wants to drop her off where she can be found.
While they argue, Fancy has escaped her ropes. She pulls off her blindfolds and starts walking away from the voices. Fancy walks through the mine, trying to get as far away from the voices.
They return to where they left her. They panic when they see Fancy is gone. Spike is still worried she saw his face. They go after her. Fancy hears them coming. She starts to run. The boards under her feet give away and she hurtles down. Spike and Chris reach the hole in the floor. Spike pronounces her dead. Fancy lays below, unconscious.
In the mine, Fancy struggles against her binds. She yells at her unknown assailant. "Let me go!" Spike has other plans and they are evil. He has been drinking. He approaches her and shakes his flask. Fancy begs for water. He gives her a swig from the flask. Fancy chokes from the liquor. Spike snaps open his switchblade. Fancy hears it. She pleads with him to let her go. She will let him have a head-start. Spike makes a move toward her ropes, giving her false hope. Instead of cutting them, he makes the binds tighter.
Spike rips the buttons off Fancy's shirt. Fancy is terrified. She knows he plans to rape her!
Fancy prays to God that Spike doesn't rape her. Spike continues to slobber all over her. He starts to take off his clothes. Fancy takes matters into her own hands or rather feet. She kicks him, causing Spike to hit his head. He is out cold. She yells for help.
Luis calls Fancy again. All he gets is her voice mail. He questions Paloma about everything Fancy said to her.
Fancy lies unconscious on the floor of a mine shaft. Spike picks up her ringing cell phone. "I'm sorry, I'm Fancy, and I can't come to the phone right now, because I'm dead."
Luis has police searching the estate and checking the security cameras for Fancy. He wonders how she got tipped off about the killer in the first place. No one suspects it was James.
The police have gone over the security tapes and combed the grounds. There is no sign of Fancy or the man she was chasing. Sheridan tells Luis to stop shooting those accusing looks at Chris. Luis warns Sheridan that he better not find out Chris had something to do with Fancy's disappearance. Sheridan professes to Chris her belief in his innocence, regardless of how Luis tries to tear him down,.
Luisputs out an A.P.B. for her. In the meantime, he hopes she calls for backup. Luis knows Fancy is in trouble. No matter how many rules she make break, she always followed the cardinal one—check in. No one has heard a word from her.
Luis can't wait for the search team to find her. He is going out to find her. It was his fault she was involved. He looks at Chris. "So help me, god, if anything happens to her –"
