The nurse tells Eve that nothing is working with Jonathan and Eve tells her to continue what she's doing. She goes into the hall and calls Julian away before he can see that he's talking to Vincent. They go into another room and Eve tells Julian that Jonathan isn't responding to treatment. Julian assures her that she can help him, but Eve has doubts recalling the patient she almost killed by giving him the wrong medication. Vincent sneaks up in the hallway and thinks to himself that Eve will make a fatal mistake. Julian notes that Eve seems so fragile and Eve recounts her error with the patient. As they head back to Eve's office, Julian reassures her that she can do it considering she hasn't been drinking and that the staff is there to help her. Eve thanks him for his support and Julian tells her that he loves her. He tells Eve he'll get her something to eat and leaves her.
Vincent skulks in the hallway, as Eve sits in her office thinking how good it is that she didn't slip up. She suddenly hears Vincent talking to her. She yells out that Vincent is dead, but hears Vincent ask for her help. Eve takes out a bottle of alcohol from her desk drawer and takes a drink. Vincent hangs out in the hallway with the recording device he was playing for Eve, pleased with how his plan is progressing and marvels that Eve has no idea how bad things will get. Eve collects herself and decides she doesn't need to drink and recounts all the guilt she has felt over Vincent. She realizes that it wasn't her fault and that even though she couldn't help Vincent, she can help Jonathan, but first she needs to keep her wits about her. Eve gets a call from the nurse who says Jonathan's fever is still above 100 and asks if she should use the IV she prescribed. Eve says yes.
Julian comes back to Eve's office and realizes she was drinking. Eve says she couldn't help it because she heard Vincent again. Julian says he's dead. Eve says she knows this but she heard his voice clear as day. Julian tells her she needs to find a better way to deal with her guilt and reminds her that she's on duty - what if she messed up someone's mediation? She says she didn't and wants to go to Jonathan's room to check on him. Julian asks her what if people found out she was drinking? Eve says she prescribed Jonathan's medication before she took a drink and that he will be fine.
Next Time on Passions:
Gwen says, "My son could die because of you!" and slaps Eve as Vincent peers from around the corner saying to himself, "Let the games begin."
Fancy wonders how she'll tell Sam his daughter is the killer.
Kay accuses someone of killing "her."
Eve yells at Julian and Valerie as she finds them in Julian's bed. She berates Julian for always ending up in another woman's arms. Valerie thinks to herself, "I always know where Daddy is." Julian tries to explain to Eve that he thought Valerie was her and Valerie says that she thought Eve kicked him out of her life once and for all. Eve tires to leave, but Julian tells her that he loves her and she loves him and they can make it work. Eve asks him why he always turns to another woman at the slightest sign of disaster. Julian just tells her how much he loves her. When Eve dismisses him, Julian tells her he'll prove it to her and demands that Valerie get out of his room. Valerie says she doesn't want to leave. Julian says he doesn't care what she wants and that she should never approach him romantically again. When Valerie pleads with him, Julian threatens to call security. Valerie says she'll go, but she needs to get her clothes first. Julian turns to Eve and asks if they can talk about it. Eve says she doesn't know if there's anything to talk about. Valerie hides under the bed and says, "Damn it mommy you took daddy away from me." Valerie continues to think that "mommy ruins everything" and that there are consequences to her actions. Julian continues to persuade Eve to forgive him, but Eve doesn't know how he can expect her to trust him since she always catches him with other women. Julian says it's because she continues to push him away. Eve can't believe he's blaming her, but Julian says he's not and asks her to come back to him. The conversation turns to Vincent and Julian asks if she really thinks Vincent is alive considering all the alcohol she's been drinking. Julian tells Eve that Vincent is gone, but Valerie says to herself under the bed, "Maybe it's time to pay mommy another visit," and grabs at her mask. Julian tells Eve he knows how much they both want Vincent to be alive, but they must face the reality that he's dead. Julian then suggests she stop drinking and Eve tells him she's sober now because she almost killed a patient at the hospital. Valerie takes off her mask and Vincent says, "Interesting. I can use that." As Julian again says that Vincent is gone, Vincent says to himself, "The Hell I am. Just you wait." Julian tells Eve they can't throw everything they've meant to each other away and asks if he can help her. Eve says yes and that she wants to feel loved and feel hope. Julian tells her he will always be there for her and that it will be just the two of them together forever. Vincent thinks that Eve is always taking "daddy" from him and that "mommy has to die."
Eve's in her office and a nurse comes in to ask her to write a new prescription for a patient. Eve writes it out and asks the nurse to leave so she can have some peace. The nurse looks at what Eve wrote and asks, "Are you sure about this?" Eve says of course - she's the doctor and tells her to leave. Eve takes some pills and then pulls out a bottle of booze because "There's only one cure for a hangover."
The nurse comes back into Eve's office and finds Eve passed out in her chair. The nurse tells Eve she wrote out the wrong medication and added 10 times the normal dose, which would have killed the patient. Eve can't believe what she has done and writes out another prescription. The nurse looks at it and reassures Eve that it's the right prescription. Before the nurse leaves she tells Eve no one has to know about what almost happened and suggests Eve get some rest. She tells Eve everyone in the hospital cares about her and they would all be upset if anything happened to her. Eve breaks down over what just occurred and doesn't know what's going on with her. Eve struggles over the fact that she almost killed a man and that she's letting alcohol ruin her life. She picks up a photo of her and Julian and says that he's right - she's in trouble. Eve recounts how Julian loves her and always comes back no matter how many times she pushes him away. She decides she will find him and make things right so they can be happy together.
Julian lies in bed sleeping and yells out Eve's name and something about Vincent being dead. A woman enters his room and sees an empty bottle of alcohol next to his bedside. The woman undresses and gets into bed with Julian. She touches Julian and he says, "Yes Eve. I love you so much. Let's make love," as he groggily starts to wake up. When Julian opens his eyes, he discovers that it's Valerie in his bed and not Eve. Julian tires to brush her off, but Valerie persists and tells him, "The Julian Crane I know is always happy to put another notch in his belt." She then asks him to make love to her. Valerie kisses him and Julian pushes her off. She tells him she knows how much he's hurting and that he needs a woman to support him and take care of him. Valerie wants to be that woman, but Julian says, "Oooh, I really shouldn't." He then asks what man wouldn't want to make love to her and Valerie tells him to be that man. Julian tells her it's not right, but Valerie says that right and wrong doesn't matter to a Crane and that she wants him now. As Valerie kisses Julian again, she hears someone coming and secretly hopes that it's 'mommy.' Eve suddenly walks in and sees the two kissing in bed.
