    Too Late?

    Monday, June 16 2008

As Ethan walks down the hall with food and champagne, he runs into Pilar and Gertrude. He tells them of he and Gwen's plans to move up their re-commitment ceremony. Theresa hides her horror, Pilar congratulates him and puts on a happy face. He assures her that he will always miss her daughter and she will always be in his heart. As he passes by them to return to Gwen, Theresa's heart breaks as she watches the couple toast to their wedding. This is enough to finally decide things for her and she agrees to leave. Pilar is relieved, but not for long. Theresa's mind twirls and she quickly backtracks, deciding that she can still stay and fight for the man she loves. Pilar is infuriated and reminds her daughter that such a choice might not only cost her life, but the life of Little Ethan as well. Theresa refuses to listen, adamant that she still has a chance to win Ethan back.

The Room Stinks Long After She's Left.

    Wednesday, June 11 2008

At the mansion, Rebecca tells her daughter to find a way to relax and asks her if she needs some batteries. Gwen doesn't; she's just worried about Theresa. Rebecca reminds her that she is dead and Ethan will soon make a commitment to her that he will have to keep. Gwen can't shake the feeling that something will go wrong. Rebecca repeats that nothing will change her and Ethan being together forever. The only thing coming between them now is Gwen herself. Gwen still can't shake her ominous feelings. "I understand. Theresa is like garbage. The room stinks long after she's left," Rebecca says. But Theresa is dead and not coming back, she adds. Gwen seems convinced.

Kay and Miguel meet with Paloma and Noah in the foyer of the mansion. They tell them that Pilar wants to take them all on a trip around the world but they have to get married sooner so they can leave. Noah is all for getting married sooner, but he's about to go to med school and he can't just run off. "There's no time like the present," Kay perkily says, ignoring his concerns. The other couple is still not convinced. Whispering, Kay tells them that Juanita is on the way to town to kill them all. Noah wants to stay and fight, but Miguel tells him to realize that Pilar can't take anyone else getting hurt and they have to do this for her. "I'm not sure," Noah says, refusing to go. "What do you mean you can't leave? We'll be getting buried not married if we stay," Paloma says. Noah is unconvinced. Miguel understands but Kay put some pressure on him that finally convinced him. Noah wonders if Miguel will try putting pressure on him. "No," Miguel says. Now they need to talk to Gwen and Ethan. They turn around and Gwen and Rebecca are standing in the doorway. They ask if Gwen is willing to move up the wedding date. "The sooner the better," Gwen smiles.

In the attic, Ethan reads the note that Theresa just left for him in her diary begging him not to recommit to Gwen. He soon stops reading it though because he's so overcome by emotion. Theresa watches and starts to worry. If he doesn't finish reading it, he won't know not to commit to Gwen. He stands up. Maybe he'll finish reading it after the pain has dulled... He walks to the door but turns around and takes the letter up again. Theresa prays that he will get to the end, but before he can, Gwen walks in and asks him what he's doing. He tells her he's reading a letter from Theresa. She wonders if it's like that other letter that mysteriously appeared, stopping her from sending Little Ethan to boarding school. She informs him that they've been asked to move the wedding date ahead. "I can't think of a reason why not to," he says. He wants to stay up there, but she won't leave him alone with Theresa's things. They go downstairs and Theresa starts to plot again.

The three couples, and Rebecca, gather in the main room of the mansion. Theresa spies on them as they go over their plans. Paloma walks out into the hall and tells Gertrude the news. "You can't do it... you need to call the whole thing off!" Theresa blurts out, revealing herself to her sister. Paloma faints at the sight of her dead sibling. Noah hurries out and asks Gertrude what happened and why Paloma was mumbling Theresa's name. Theresa covers and Noah runs off for water. Theresa wakes her sister up and they embrace. She begs her sister to stop the wedding. Meanwhile, Gwen tells Rebecca that she caught Ethan going through Theresa's things and found another letter. Rebecca tries to talk her panicking down. Gwen has a strange feeling about that letter. Rebecca offers to get champagne for them all. Gwen spots Ethan holding the letter and tries to distract him from reading it.

    The Whine Festival.

    Tuesday, June 10 2008

At the mansion, Gwen is yelling for Little Ethan when her mother strolls in and begs her to stop. As Rebecca prepares a little hair of the dog, Gwen complains about how Little Ethan spent the previous evening reminding his father of his love for Theresa. As she details what happened, even Rebecca thinks she's overreacting. "Foiled by a child! You should be ashamed of yourself," she says. Gwen continues her complaints and Rebecca gets bored listening to the "whine festival". She knows that Ethan loves Theresa, so she needs to stop complaining and make him forget it. Gwen doesn't know how to compete with a dead woman. Rebecca tells her to move on and get realistic. Gwen feels like Theresa is still in the house and nothing has changed. Rebecca advises her daughter to pray: Bless you shark! "As usual, you have mishandled the situation," Rebecca says. What's left of Theresa is an "ooze" off the coast of Mexico. Gwen better start acting like the winner here or she really will be a loser. Gwen is getting tired of listening to lectures from her mother. "There is nothing a man hates more than a woman who is needy and insecure," Rebecca points out. She tells her daughter to get a backbone, but Gwen starts to worry that Little Ethan will ruin the ceremony. Gwen repeats her worries about Theresa. Rebecca tells her to change the channel. She's heard this a million times and she needs to stop worrying about shark food girl. Gwen still thinks Theresa is as powerful dead as alive. Rebecca toasts to getting an exorcist.

    I Learned From the Best.

    Monday, June 09 2008

At the mansion, Gwen and Ethan enter the main room followed by Gertrude. Little Ethan has called them down to meet him. They look around and see that he has had a special dinner set out for them: He wants to help them celebrate their re-commitment ceremony. Gwen and Ethan are shocked and thrilled. They thank him as they sit. Theresa takes her son aside and asks him how he can do this when he knows that the re-commitment is breaking her heart. Gwen and Ethan ask what to do next. He explains that he's set the bar up for them (Julian taught him how). As they pour drinks, Theresa repeats to her son how hurt she is and how betrayed she feels. She holds back her tears and babbles until he tells her to stop talking and listen. "If you just have a little patience, you'll see it's all for you," he explains. Meanwhile, Gwen is confused, recalling how the kid recently turned her blue. Ethan shrugs, assuming that kids just go with the flow. Gwen is still suspicious. Little Ethan announces that dinner is ready and tells them the menu. Both Theresa and Ethan are surprised that he is serving all of Theresa's favorite foods. They sit down and the boy says grace before they start. The entire meal reminds Ethan of Theresa.

After eating, the boy announces that he has a presentation for them. Once they make their way over to the TV, he starts playing Ethan's song with Theresa. Gwen become agitated as a DVD Little Ethan made of Ethan and Theresa's life together starts to play. Theresa finally figures out what her son was up to. Gwen breaks down and shuts off the TV. She accuses the boy of trying to sabotage her re-commitment ceremony. Ethan tells her she's acting like a fishwife. Little Ethan explains that he was just including all of Ethan's history and Gwen was coming up next. Gwen assumes that he's lying. She sits at his laptop to check if there are any pictures of her. The boy worries that Gwen will try to send him away again. Gwen asks him if he planned this whole evening just to make her feel bad. Suddenly, a slide show of her and Ethan comes on. Gwen is shocked. The boy explains that he had to get most of the pictures from Rebecca and the country club. He never knows how to make Gwen happy; she's always blowing up at him and doesn't seem to like being a mom. She apologizes for being a jerk and thanks him for everything. Ethan decides it's time for dessert. "You little devil," Theresa whispers to her son. "I learned from the best," he smiles. They sit down to dessert. Gwen tells Gertrude that she still suspects that the kid planned to make her lose it in front of Ethan; that kid is "the child of the devil", she asserts. Theresa stifles her anger and uses a napkin ring to tie Gwen's shirt to the tablecloth. She gets up and suggests to Ethan that he ask Gwen to dance. When he does so, she stands up and pulls the meal with her as she falls to the floor covered in chocolate. Ethan helps her up, though he bursts into laughter. She stomps away to clean up, leaving him laughing with Gertrude and the boy.

    Nice Shot!

    Tuesday, June 03 2008

Gwen asks Gertrude to call on the invitations for her wedding and Theresa thinks that she is the one who should be planning a ceremony with Ethan. Ethan enters the room with a box of wedding stuff for Gwen. She asks him to make some calls for the wedding downstairs so she and Gertrude can pick out her wedding gown. Gwen tries one on and asks Gertrude if this is the one she should marry Ethan in. Gertrude blurts out, “No!” and Gwen asks if she liked the other one better. Gertrude says no, but maybe she shouldn’t marry Ethan. Gwen wants to know why she’s against it and Gertrude makes something up about Gwen being overwhelmed right now and how she should enjoy planning the ceremony. Gwen changes out of her dress and says all she cares about right now is recommitting to Ethan and starting their life together. Gwen asks Gertrude to hang up her dresses so she can go talk to her mother and leaves.

Gertrude looks at the dresses and says, “Damn you Gwen. I should be getting ready for my wedding to Ethan. Not you.” She picks up one of the dresses and holds it up to her in the mirror. Theresa has a fantasy that her and Ethan get married and Luis, who is an “Officer of the Peace”, officiates. In the fantasy, Gwen comes in to object and Theresa grabs Luis’s gun and shoots her. Luis says, “Nice shot”, and then pronounces Ethan and Theresa man and wife.
