No Faith, no hope, but Charity is back

Sam hurries the paramedics to get there. Luis worries about her condition as Fancy lies on the ground. Paloma approaches him. She tells him Sheridan has something to say. Luis is more interested in Chris. He blames him for everything. It explains how Chris knew where Fancy was. Chris rationalizes he knew because of the clues Fancy gave him during Luis' altered state. Even though Sheridan and Paloma back Chris up, Luis puts him on notice that he is under suspicion.

Fancy listens, amazed that Luis heard her. She thought it was a dream. Luis says they connected somehow. There was even dirt on his shirt and blood on his hand. Fancy has never experienced that kind of psychic connection with anyone. Paloma remarks that Luis had it with Sheridan. Luis says he has it with Fancy too. Sheridan looks miserable as she watches the two bond.

The paramedics have arrived. They check Fancy out. Her pulse is thready but she will be all right. Fancy asks Luis to ride with her to the hospital. Luis turns to Sheridan and asks her if she wanted to tell him something. She tells him it was nothing and to go with Fancy.

As soon as they leave, Paloma asks Sheridan why didn't she speak up. Sheridan repeats that it is too late. She will accept her very good life with Chris and James and be thankful.

Fox outfoxes Kay

Down in the hole, Fancy and Luis have warmed up to kissing under the blankets. Sheridan can't tear her eyes away from watching them on the monitor. Paloma offers to watch to save her some pain. Sheridan turns her down.

Suddenly Fancy has a bout of chills. Luis holds her closer under the blanket. He thought she was better. She says she's never been better in her life as she snuggles into his chest. Luis makes small talk to keep her focused. Fancy eats it up. Luis is her hero.

They stop kissing for a minute and joke a bit before getting serious. Fancy apologizes for running off on her own. Luis is just relieved he found her in time.

Luis tries to keep Fancy awake because she may have a concussion. While Fancy fights drifting off, she daydreams about Luis. In her fantasy, Luis confesses his love for her and ask her forgiveness for not realizing it sooner. Back in reality, Fancy tells Luis if she dies now, she will die happy.

Luis' look of love

Down in the hole, Luis pleads with Fancy to wake up. He takes her in his arms. Above, Sheridan and Paloma yell to Luis to answer them. At first, there is silence. Eventually, Luis calls back to them, "She -- she's gone!"

Luis talks to Fancy's lifeless body. "I never even got the chance to tell you how much I love you. Fancy." Suddenly she stirs. "She's alive!" The women above thank God.

Luis knows Fancy is in shock when she complains of being cold. He yells for matches, blankets, anything to keep her warm. Paloma lowers down a survival kit with the needed equipment including a video camera so they can see what's going on.

As he takes her off her wet clothes, Sheridan and Paloma get a good eyeful of the undressing. Paloma explains what Luis is doing and then leaves to get Sam.

Sheridan watches the monitor that looks very similar to their “porn” tape.

Fancy begins to cough so Luis gives her water to ease her spasm. When she says she is still cold, he pulls her closer.

Paloma returns to the site with word that the rescue crew was trying to figure out how to reach them safely. It is going to take some time. She then watches Luis and Fancy on the monitor. She can't help but smile. She sees the blood on Fancy and lists Fancy's health issues. Sheridan irritably remarks “Well, aren't you little Miss Mary Sunshine tonight.” She immediately apologizes but she can't help but talk about how safe it feels in Luis' arms. Paloma looks at her as understanding dawns.

Paloma asks if she's okay. Sheridan claims she is. She knows Luis will take good care of Fancy even if she has to die trying.

Fancy is feeling better. She thanks Luis for saving her life. Sheridan watches and recognizes the look in Luis' eyes. “That look was mine.”

Paloma notes that this bothering Sheridan. She denies it. Luis isn't a part of her life any more.

Fancy and Luis exchange compliments on each other's bravery. Luis seals his with a kiss. Sheridan realizes it really is over between them.

Tears stream down Sheridan's face. She tries to talk herself out of feeling bad. “They deserve each other.” Down below, Luis and Fancy share another kiss.

Coming Clean

The ropes supporting Fancy give way and Luis jumps in after her. Sam suddenly appears and they tell him that Luis just jumped in. Sheridan worries that no one could survive a plunge like that. Just before they hit bottom, Luis manages to catch Fancy while still clutching the rope. Sam calls down and says that a rescue team is coming, but it might take a couple of days. There is almost no way into the shafts; they're full of rubble. Sheridan and Paloma can't believe this; there's no way they can hold on for days. Fancy says that she'll be alright as long as nothing else happens. Then the rope comes undone and they begin to fall again, plummeting through the tunnel to sure death on impact. Sheridan and Sam call down but there is no answer. Eventually, Luis calls up and Chris and Sam rush off to get help. Luis crawls out from under debris to look for Fancy. He uncovers her and pulls her onto his lap, but she doesn't respond. 'So beautiful; so brave. You can't die on me Fancy.' He thinks back on all there time together. 'I can't lose you. I love you,' he whispers as he holds her in his arms.

Plans Fall Through

Luis, Paloma, Sheridan and Chris are searching for Fancy in the caves. Luis continues to prod Chris about why he's there and what he really has to do with Fancy. Deep in the hole, Fancy tries to cry out while the ropes continue to give way. Luis keeps harassing Chris, who claims that he only came there because this place sounded like the place Fancy had described to Luis. This seems highly suspicious to Luis and Paloma. Fancy suddenly comes to and begins screaming. Sheridan continues to insist that Chris couldn't have had anything to do with Fancy's disappearance because he was with her. Fancy continues to shout until Luis starts to follow her voice. They find the hole and look down as she calls up. 'This is not going to be easy,' Luis admits as Fancy sways below. She begins slipping while Luis continues to wonder what Chris is doing there with a rope since he isn't exactly 'the boy scout type.' He tries to lower a rope but some of the boards give way. They narrowly miss her and she gets a hold of the rope, tying it around her waist. He tries to pull her up, but the knot comes undone. She starts again while the cords continue to tear and Luis yells down at her. They give way and she falls.

Giving all up for love

Luis talks on the phone to find out if anyone has found Fancy. So far no one has. Paloma speculates about whether Luis' visions of Fancy were imaginary or psychic. Sheridan knows it could be psychic but she thought she was the only one who shared that with Luis. Paloma mentions some psychics believe some dreams are visitations from dead people. Luis refuses to believe Fancy is dead. She's alive and out there somewhere. They just have to find her.

Chris' conscience is kicking in. He knows where she is and he could save her. He quietly leaves the cottage .

Sheridan agrees with Luis. Fancy is still alive. Fancy calls Luis. He is the only one who can hear her. Physically, Fancy lies on a ledge. It shakes from her weight. The last chain holding it breaks . The ledge drops slightly. Fancy's time is running out.

Luis can't understand why no one can find Fancy. He has the FBI and the state troopers helping the police force. Paloma looks around and doesn't see Chris. Sheridan goes upstairs to find him. Paloma mentions to Luis how nervous Chris was acting. Luis noticed it too.

Chris is in the mine with rope to rescue Fancy. He shines a flashlight down the hole where Fancy fell through. He can't imagine how she survived the fall. He calls her name, praying all the while that she is alive.

The ledge that Fancy was on folds like a trap door, hurling her body deeper into the darkness.

Paloma meets up with Luis. They still can't find Fancy. Chris sees them in the cave. He tries to get away before he is discovered but it is too late. Sheridan is surprised to see him. She asks him what he is doing there. Luis thinks he already knows. Chris was involved in Fancy's disappearance. He knew she was there the whole time. Luis badgers Chris. He wants to know where Fancy is. Chris denies knowing. Sheridan pleads with Luis to leave him alone. She is sure he can explain why he's there.

Luis doesn't have time to argue. He feels the urgency of finding Fancy before it's too late. He calls to her. She answers but no one hears her.. One of the ropes suspending the platform slowly comes apart.

Rebecca knocks Gwen out!

Fancy lies unconscious on a ledge connected to the mine walls by chains but her spirit stands near Luis. She calls out for his help. Luis answers her, oblivious that Paloma, Sheridan and Chris are in the room with him. They think he is hallucinating or delirious. Sheridan feels guilty for slipping him a sleeping pill in his coffee. Paloma tries to wake him but Luis can only hear Fancy's voice. Luis begs her not to give up.

Chris doesn't like what he's hearing. He asks how Luis got that way. Sheridan confesses to giving Luis a sleeping pill because he was so exhausted. Paloma notes that he isn't sleeping any more. Luis's eyes are wide open like he is in a trance.

Sheridan tries to break through Luis' trance. Chris prays that Luis isn't connecting through to Fancy. He is convinced she is dead. All Luis can hear is Fancy. "It's pitch black here. Please don't let me die in the dark. Don't leave me here, Luis. I love you," The ledge she is on begins to shake. Fancy whispers out loud, "I love you." Luis jolts out of his trance. He calls for Fancy. Sheridan tells him that she isn't there.

Luis is positive he heard Fancy. It wasn't a dream. Paloma and Sheridan assure him Fancy is not there. Luis discovers dirt on his shirt and brushes it away. Sheridan is surprised because it wasn't on him when he came there. That is proof to Luis that Fancy was there. To add to that he notices blood on his hand! Chris covertly wipes away dirt from his pants. He is astonished and worried by these signs.

The ledge Fancy is on shakes violently from her weight. A chain breaks.

Luis feels so woozy he falls back into a chair. Sheridan owns up to giving him the sleeping pill. She defends herself saying she thought it would help. Luis thinks she did help because, in whatever state he was in, he was able to connect to Fancy. He compares the telepathy to what he use to share with Sheridan. Sheridan is dismayed. She thought that was something that only she shared with Luis. Paloma sees it as proof that Fancy is still alive, something Chris realizes too.

Luis can still hear Fancy calling to him. "Fancy is in a cold, dark place. She's obviously hurt. And she's afraid that she's gonna die. I'm going to find the scum who did this to her. I'm gonna make him pay." He picks up the phone and dials.

Kay makes her choice

Luis comes back to Sheridan's cottage. He tells Sheridan. the lead he had turned out to be false. He asks if she has heard from Fancy. Sheridan hasn't. He blames himself for letting Fancy tag along. Sheridan and Paloma try to comfort him, telling him she will be fine. Luis won't be comforted. He worries that the killer has captured Fancy or even worse. If anything has happened to her, he'll never forgive himself.

Luis can't rest until he finds Fancy. He prepares to leave but Sheridan stops him. Both Sheridan and Paloma believe he should let the other police officers find her. He needs to get some rest Luis refuses. Sheridan offers to make him some coffee and she won't take no for an answer. Luis looks around and asks where is Chris. Sheridan tells him he's out looking for Fancy. Luis doesn't like the sound of that.

Luis thinks the coffee is much improved. He tries to get up but falls back down. He decides to take a catnap before he returns to search for Fancy. Paloma promises to wake him up in five minutes. Paloma tells Sheridan that Luis looks terrible. Maybe they should call a doctor. Sheridan informs her there's nothing wrong with Luis. She put a sleeping pill in his coffee. Paloma is shocked because she knows Luis will be furious when finds out what Sheridan did.

Paloma questions whether Sheridan wants Luis to find Fancy. Of course, she wants Fancy found. She was just concerned about Luis. It suddenly hits her that she may have been wrong. Luis starts talking in his sleep. He hears Fancy call to him.

Chris walks into the cottage. Luis continue talking to Fancy in his sleep. Fancy's spirit is reaching out to Luis and giving him clues to her whereabouts. Luis suddenly wakes up. "I'm coming Fancy. Don't die." Chris is appalled.

Ethan swears he will leave Gwen

Luis is worried about Fancy. He knows she is in danger. He wishes he knew who she talked to that gsve her the lead on the murderer. It may help them to find her. He decides to join the search party looking for Fancy. Paloma volunteers to help too. Before he goes, he gives Chris another chance to talk. Chris denies knowing anything. Sheridan can't believe Luis accused him of being a murderer. Chris thinks to himself that Sheridan doesn't really know him.

Paloma and Luis are down on the docks looking for signs of Fancy. They come across a shady character. Luis asks if he's seen Fancy. The way Luis describes Fancy makes Paloma think he is in love with Fancy. Luis manhandles the man. He is desperate for information. Paloma forces him to let him go. The man doesn't know anything.

Paloma won't let Luis beat himself up over his concern. It was Fancy's choice to go after the man. She tells him that he is so worried because he has fallen in love with Fancy. He denies it. Paloma believes it whether Luis realizes it or not.

Luis changes the subject to Chris. He thinks Sheridan is in danger too. He believes that Chris is in the center of what's going on.
