Todd and Tea have an emotional reunion, Deanna wants to locate her mother, and Marty pushes to seduce John...
Outside Todd's hospital room, Dani and Nate talk about the calls Todd was getting before he was shot. They happened before Tomas came to town. He couldn't be the one trying to hurt her father. Nate hugs Dani in agreement but looks at Shaun with doubt.
Inside Todd's room, Tea kisses Todd and wants to get the doctor. Todd stops her and asks, "What happened?" Tea never thought she'd see Todd again and explains that he was shot. Tea opens the door and shares the news. Dani rushes to Todd's side while Shaun calls for a doctor. Later, after Dani has left and a doctor has examined Todd, he begins to recall the shooting.
Still at the apartment, Starr wonders if Deanna is staying in Llanview because of James. Deanna thinks of James as family. She has nowhere else to go and wants to be friends with Starr too. Deanna wants to get a job and locate her mother. Just then, Nate calls and tells them Todd's awake. Deanna watches as James shares in Starr's excitement. James tells Deanna she can stay there for now then leaves with Starr. Deanna thinks back to being with James in Ohio.
At Capricorn, Blair and Tomas give in to their feelings and kiss. Tomas thinks they should stop, but Blair doesn't want to. Even though there's no music playing, they dance and kiss passionately. Tomas lifts Blair onto the piano and things heat up. A call from Starr interrupts their intimate moment. Tomas listens as Blair hears that Todd's awake and talking. He offers to drive her to the hospital.
Just as Tea asks if Todd saw who shot him, Starr rushes into his room. They joke about Todd preventing her and Dani from dating. Blair appears to say hi, promises to bring the boys by then takes Starr away. Tea tries to get Todd to rest. Todd recalls John saying the gunman had shot at them from a window. Todd wanted to get his keys, and John left to help Gigi. "I saw him in the window," Todd says. "I remember."
Outside Todd's room, Blair chats with Dani and Starr, while Shaun and Nate eye Tomas. Tomas watches Tea and Todd through the window then walks away to make a call. He privately tells someone, "He's awake." Tomas ends the call and goes back to the window. As he makes eye contact with Todd, Todd tells Tea that Tomas shot him.
Natalie plays the session tape at the carriage house and hears Marty's voice. She listens to Marty tell her doctor how she put an end to John and Natalie because Marty deserved to be with John. "What is she talking about?" Natalie wonders. She stops the tape, tries talking herself out of listening to it but recalls everything Marty's done to her. Just as Natalie restarts the tape, Rex and Gigi rush in. They've changed their minds and don't want to invade Shane's privacy. Natalie explains the tape isn't Shane's. It's Marty's, and she was just getting to the good part. They warn Natalie not to listen to Marty's private session. Besides, nothing on the tape can make things right between her and John. Natalie agrees and tries to leave with the tape. Rex stops her. He doesn't trust Natalie not to listen to it.
In Marty's living room, John pulls away from the kiss. He asks what she wanted to tell him. "After," Marty promises. John holds Marty at bay. She accuses him of not wanting her because of Natalie. John wants to take things slow. Natalie burned him. Their life was a lie. Marty apologizes. "It's not like you made it happen," John says, wishing maybe Marty had. Marty thinks back to her therapy session and admits, "I did make it happen." Marty brings up how she knew Natalie's lie and pushed for the truth to come out. John doesn't blame her but wonders what she wanted to tell him. Marty claims it was nothing. They have dinner. Marty doesn't want to ruin things and vows to make John happy again. She wants to make up for the baby John lost. "Don't you mean the baby we lost?" John asks. Marty backtracks and accepts John's hug goodbye.
