Echo makes an admission, Starr questions James about Deanna, and Tess is optimistic...

In gym class, Shane is warned by a teacher to take it easy while playing basketball. Shane assures Jack he didn't say anything about him taking his inhaler. Jack warns what'll happen if Shane ever opens his mouth. Shane has to use his inhaler then appeals to Jack. Jack takes offense and warns Shane to keep his mouth shut. The boys are ordered to the showers. Jack's friends assure him they know what to do. Later, Shane returns in only a towel. He tries to retrieve his clothes from Jack and his friends. As the kids pick on Shane, Jack pulls Shane's towel off, leaving him naked. "I hate you!" Shane screams. "I hate all of you!"

Seated at the diner, Starr questions James about who Deanna is. "Just some girl," James replies. Starr remembers seeing Deanna at the diner. When Starr leaves to take a call, Gigi sees Deanna's friend request on James' laptop and confirms she was in the diner. She could tell Deanna was broke and bummed out about something. Starr briefly returns to tell James she needs leave. Once she's gone, James questions Gigi. Did Deanna mention where she was staying? Gigi thinks she mentioned the Minute Man Motel.

Standing in her motel room doorway, Deanna asks Rick how he plans to make her a star. Rex appears and thanks Rick for the DVD but refuses an invitation to watch Rick's films. Deanna wonders what Rex meant. Rick leads Deanna inside her room and admits he makes adult films. Deanna's not into porn. Rick reminds her of her money troubles. "How much do you pay?" Deanna asks. The manager calls wanting his money. Deanna doesn't have it and hangs up. Rick takes out a wad of cash and tells Deanna, "I have the answer." James appears outside of Deanna's room and knocks.

Charlie gets ready to leave Echo's room at the Minute Man Motel. She'd like to spend the day with him, but Charlie replies, "My wife needs me." Echo wonders where she'll fit in when he's helping Viki raise her grandson. He knows Echo's hurting but has to leave. Charlie runs into Rex on his way out. Echo claims Charlie was fixing her pipes. After Charlie leaves, Rex admits he's worried about Shane. Rex talks about Shane stealing and bullying other kids. "Shane's no bully," Echo replies and finally admits he's being bullied at school. Echo talks about all the nasty posts on Shane's MyFace. Two months ago, Shane made her promise not to tell Rex and Gigi. Echo gives Rex her laptop. Rex hacks into Shane's MyFace and sees the posts. Rex recognizes a screen name as Jack Manning's and rushes off.

Starr appears in the gym just as Shane rushes back into the bathroom. She's there to get Jack out of school but demands to know if the boy who ran off was Shane. Jack tries to get Starr to leave, but Rex and Gigi appear. Rex grabs Jack, slams him up against a wall and demands, "What the hell are you doing to my kid?"

Viki goes to the jail and hands Clint a paper. She wants him to withdrawal his name from Ryder's custody appeal. Viki explains how Jessica returned until Ford brought Tess back. Clint compares Ford to Eddie and says, "I should've taken care of that dog when I had the chance." Clint vows he didn't kill Eddie. Viki wonders why Bo and Nora have evidence he did. "Things aren't always what they seem," Clint replies, claiming he can prove his innocence. Viki doesn't have time for this and demands Clint sign the paper.

Outside the courtroom, Ford's lawyer counsels him on what to expect. Ford realizes Viki and Charlie will appear like the ideal couple to raise Ryder. "I wouldn't be so sure," Tess says. She warns Ford not to call her Tess in front of the judge then follows the lawyer inside.

In the courtroom, over talk of Clint being charged, Nora has a flashback of the night Eddie was murdered. She wishes she could remember everything. Ford and Tess appear with their attorney, as does Viki with the signed papers from Clint. Court begins. Viki's abilities to take care of an infant are discussed. Charlie appears and agrees to help Viki with Ryder. Tess stares at the photo of Echo and Charlie kissing on her phone and interrupts. She warns Viki should be concerned with her own marriage. Charlie's a liar and a cheat. Viki's too far gone to realize it. Tess is hushed by the judge. She tries to say she has proof, but her attorney warns Tess to shut up. During a recess, Viki wonders what Tess was on about. Tess assures Ford everything will work out fine. After Viki scolds Tess, Tess tells Ford she's going to blow up Viki's world. On her way out, Viki receives the text of Charlie and Echo kissing.

Charlie goes back to Echo's room and tries to end things. He can't do this anymore.

Bo goes to the jail and says to Clint, "I'm here to offer you a deal." Bo wants Clint to plead guilty in order to save the family from going through the pain of a trial. Clint refuses and proclaims his innocence. Bo reminds him of the evidence. Clint again warns Bo that he's innocent. If Bo doesn't let this go, Bo's going to destroy his family.
