One Life to Live: Rally Set To Save Kish Storyline!

Tuesday, March 16 2010

Fish and Kyle (ABC)
Last week, news came that the show would be forcing fans to Say Goodbye to Kyle and Fish, which left fans in an uproar…

If you were one of those fans and want to show your support in an attempt to try to get those at One Life to Live to reconsider their decision to write out the popular characters, played by actors Brett Claywell and Scott Evans, and their storyline, you may have a chance. On Friday March 26, fans will rally from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM outside of the "Good Morning America" studios in Times Square in New York City, New York. There is also going to be a rally in Burbank, California, and we'll keep fans updated when details are released.

Are you going to be in the area with plans to join in the crusade? Please tell Soaps.com below, as well as leaving your thoughts about this latest casting news. There are a few other actors who will be leaving the show in the coming weeks, which you can view in our OLTL Comings and Goings.

Ms Amy, is there a way we can show our support online? Would love to be able to support Kysh in person but for me & probably a lot of others, getting into NYC or BUR is not possible.

Hi bonairebound,

Though we don't post petitions and such, we encourage fans to post their support on our OLTL message board, as the writers and others from the show often browse the net for such fan reaction

Come on everybody let's save our amazing Scott Evans as Oliver Fish and Brett Claywell as Kyle Lewis they both were an inspiration for all of us fans and were going o fight and fight until we get them to reverse the situation and keep their storylines on the air.

I am truly heartbroken at the thought of losing the amazing Brett and Scott who have made Kish such a wonderful couple.
it is absolutely ridiculous to suggest that they didnt resonate with the mainstream audience when they are greatly
loved worldwide and have brought many new viewers to the show...I would rather watch their beautiful love story than
rapist Todd, porn with Blair and Eli, rampant teenage sex and Mitch wanting to impregnate his own daughter...those are the stories that are offensive and certainly not Kish...
ABC has cheated their loyal fans and needs to bring Brett and Scott back and please give them both contracts...I cant
attend the rallies but i will certainly be supporting them in every way i can on message boards and by contacting ABC..

Shows constantly complain that they keep losing viewership. Maybe someone should explain to them that when you take a couple that viewers truly love and support and throw them out the window, viewers get angry and refuse to watch. At this point, they are the best couple in Llanview, especially in view of the fact that TPTB have chosen to break up Jessica and Brody, as well as Vicki and Charlie. And the mess they've made of Mitch Laurence's return is beyond belief. Now they tell us that they will allow Fish and Kyle to raise Fish's daughter, but only off-screen. There may be a few viewers who still have a bias against different sexual orientation, but I think if you did the numbers, you'd find that they are in the definite minority. Before you decide to destroy this wonderful couple that has worked through barriers most individuals could not surmount, take a look at your current numbers and ask yourself, do I really want to see them go lower?

I am a heterosexual, married senior who has gotten back into OLTL after a long stint in the corporate world. I personally think that the show went a little overboard with the mass gay marriage/Dorian pretending to be gay sl last year, but like many many other fans, I have grown very fond of the Kyle and Fish characters and sl. That portion of the sl has been presented as a very sweet love story and is very acceptable to me and many other viewers, who probably as recently as ten years ago would not have accepted it. It is a much better life realistic story than some of the other garbage that is now part of the show. I don't understand why the writers even brought these characters in the mix if the plan was to cut them out without explanation. I feel that there is a lot more acceptance of these two characters than the writers realize. It is a shame that they are willing to lose even more viewers and seal the ratings death of this show by making this decision.

You tell 'em HipHopGrandma!

I live in Hawaii and this gal who is mainstream, and longtime soap lover loves KISH! I haven't felt this invested in a long time. When Kyle and Oliver had their first fight, they sounded like a pair of old marrieds and thats because the smoking hot on screen chemistry of Brett Claywell and Scott Evans.

Talk about a total cop out..

Just wondering..is that so-called 18-49 group just women only?

If that's the case, no wonder the soap is big trouble.

I guess I am in the minority, but I am not a fan of the Fish and Kyle s/l. So, contrary to popular opinion everyone does not enjoy watching two men rolling around in bed together in the afternoon. JMO. I can accept homosexuality without wanting to see it on tv.
