One Life to Live: Gay Storyline On The Horizon!

    Tuesday, June 16 2009

    Scott Evans (ABC)
We know that Oliver Fish (Scott Evans) and Kyle Lewis (Brett Claywell) not only went to college together, and were involved in the same fraternity, but what secret are they obviously hiding?

There have been rumors for some time that a gay storyline will be on the horizon, and though we don't have the details of how it will all unfold, Scott, who is openly gay, has confirmed that his character will slowly be trying to deal with his sexuality, after years of having to hide it from his parents.

While Scott mentioned that Oliver 'experimented when he was younger', which would lead us to believe that Oliver and Kyle shared 'a moment' in college, he said the character has been on an emotional journey – one minute he's gay, the next he's trying to hit on girls such as Stacy Morasco (Crystal Hunt) and Layla Williamson (Tika Sumpter) in an attempt not to be gay.

In any case, Soaps.com is excited that One Life to Live is taking this storyline to the next level – something a lot of the fans on our message board have been hoping for!

So Amy, doesn't this mean that fish is bi-sexual? He apparently is flip-flopping because he showed no regret with Stacey.

    To KC11--
A gay man turning to women as a means to hide his homosexuality is NOT bisexual. He is a gay man who has not accepted what he is. He is using women to try and either hide what he is from others or to try and deny what he is to himself. A true bisexual enjoys both sexes equally, but it does not appear that Fish is in that category.

Got it! Thanks for the input. This story will be very enlightening indeed. Is this a "down low" scenario?

This is a great story line and look forward to following it, will give serious thought to dropping ATWT to see this.

It's about time - my hope is that it's an acceptable relationship instead of a "dark secret" where they are not accepted as a couple. Please - gay's have been accepted as partners for several years (in most states)

I hope the writers handle this story with respect and dignity --- similar to Jessica handling her situation with Chloe.

OMG NOT ANOTHER GAY STORY LINE. PUKE, I AM NOT INTERESTED IN WATCHING 2 PEOPLE OF THE SAME SEX FALL IN LOVE. U SEE I BELIEVE GOD WHEN HE SAYS 'THEY ARE AN ABOMINATION IN MY EYES FOR LEAVING THE NATURAL COURSE OF THINGS' READ THAT IN THE BOOK OF ROMANS, GOD HIMSELF SAID THAT.

God didn't say any of that - the entire Bible has been writen by human men/possibly some women. God's hand did not come down out of the sky and pen the Bible. Wake up people!

UGH, people take a breath. Don't get all riled up because 1 Life is gonna have a gay storyline! Gay people are people with feelings too. If soaps are portraying "people" then there should be a gay storyline --- just let it be dignified and not like the current "Stacy" disaster.
