"Becoming the part by being you."

On Saturday and Sunday, July 14 and 15, former "One Life To Live" actress Kathy Brier (ex-Marcie McBain) will hold a theatre workshop on "Becoming The Part By Being You." The workshop will take place from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM for ages 12 through 18 at the Holy Cross Church at 1439 West Main Road (Rte 114) & Oliphant Lane in Middletown, Rhode Island.

Aimed to guide young actors in finding themselves in parts they are portraying, Brier will provide acting exercises to encourage self-awareness and confidence to get ready for authentic musical theatre performance. Students will be taught how to cultivate tools that will help apply them to their chosen songs and in turn discover the creativity of connecting their character's lives to their own through music. Visit Newport Children’s Theatre to sign up today.

The actress is well-known for her portrayal of Tracy Turnblad in Broadway's "Hairspray" and appeared as "One Life To Live's" Marcie McBain from 2002 to 2011. Brier also had three of her original songs featured on HBO’s "Boardwalk Empire" soundtrack.
