Ex-One Life To Live's Ellen Holly Sets The Record Straight.

    Friday, December 16 2011

    Holly (Ellen Holly)
"We had been terminated… in secrecy… and with gratuitous brutality."

Former "One Life To Live" actress Ellen Holly, who played Clara Grey Hall Scott aka Carla Bonari from 1969 to 1980; 1983 to 1985, wants to set the record straight about her rumored departure from the ABC soap opera years ago. Through an open letter to fans and historians of "One Life To Live," Ellen opens up about show reps addressing her exit in 1985, stating that she and her onscreen mother, Lillian Hayman, had left the show for greener pastures. However, Ellen counters, "Not so. We had been terminated… in secrecy… and with gratuitous brutality." If you'd like to read more about Ellen's stance view her Open Letter to the Fans and Historians of One Life to Live.

Since leaving Llanview behind Ellen has appeared in roles on "Cops And Robbers," Spenser For Hire," "School Daze," "In The Heat Of The Night," and "Guiding Light" from 1991 to 1993 as Judge Collier.

This is shocking news. I loved both Ellen and Lillian and believed the PR that they'd left for "greener pastures". Thanks so much for sharing.

This is just awful and believable too because we're hearing how ABC have treated the actors recently and how often do we say we need more minority representation on this show?

HOW TRAGIC TO ONLY FIND OUT NOW ABOUT THE INJUSTICES ELLEN HAS SUFFERED. I WAS ONE OF THOSE EARLIEST FANS WHO WATCHED ONE LIFE BECAUSE OF THE INCLUSION OF A FAMILY OF COLOR. IN THOSE DAYS IT DIDN'T MATTER IF YOU WERE HISPANIC, ASIAN, OR BLACK... IF MOVIES AND TELEVISION HAD A MINORITY STORYLINE YOU WATCHED.
I AM CHINESE FILIPINO AND MEXICAN... ONE LIFE WAS THE ONLY DAYTIME SHOW TO HAVE A MINORITY FAMILY...SO WE WATCHED. AS A MINORITY WE DIDN'T HAVE THE LUXURY OF HOLDING OUT FOR A FACE THAT LOOKED LIKE US ...WE WATCHED ANY PROGRAM THAT HAD PERSONS OF COLOR....ANY COLOR...AND TO FIND OUT THAT ONE LIFE WAS ONLY "USING" THESE TWO WONDERFUL ACTRESSES IS ABSOLUTELY INSULTING.

AGNES NIXON SHOULD BE EMBARRASED BY HER ACTIONS AND HER OBVIOUS DISREGARD FOR ALL THE MINORITIES THAT HAVE SUPPORTED HER AND HER STORIES OVER THE YEARS.

Sounds like sour grapes to me and a bit unstable . Twenty five years is too long to hold a grudge .
