Soaps.com would like to give a warm welcome to
One Life to Live's very own Kerry Butler AKA
Claudia Reston, brought to you by Amy Mistrettawriter for the One Life to Live division of Soaps.com!

    Amy:
Hi Kerry, thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to answer a few questions for us today! Can you please give us a little insight into the woman behind Kerry Butler the star?

    Kerry:
"I'm a strong Christian, faith and family is important to me. I love my work, and I take it very seriously. But I also have many interests outside of show business. Helping people is important to me. Like Claudia, I have addiction issues, instead of pills I'm addicted to Disney World. I go a few times a year. I'm actually going through a bit of withdrawal right now I haven't been there in 5 months!!"

    Amy:
Can you give the fans an idea of what a normal day on the set of One Life to Live involves for you?

    Kerry:
"I go to blocking and we work on the scenes. I like the dry blocking, because we figure out what's going on in the scene. Then sit in makeup forever. They put all this body makeup on me because I have freckles. I get very excited when I get to wear long sleeves and jackets. But they do make me look good. That's what my dad says all the time. "How do they make you look so good on that show?" It's very funny. Then I rehearse and go over lines with the other actors. I never realized how hard doing soaps was. It's hard enough to remember all those lines, and then to make it believable and interesting. I really respect these actors. They make it look so easy. Then we shoot. It is so fast, a lot of times we only get one take of a scene. I tell everyone it's kind of like doing live theater in front of millions of people with almost no rehearsal. It's very challenging."

    Amy:
Is there any One Life to Live cast mate who you have predominantly enjoyed working with?

    Kerry:
"I have really enjoyed everyone. They've paired me with a lot of people, and I feel like I've learned something from every actor. Forbes [March, Nash Brennan] is hilarious, and keeps me on my toes. Michael Easton [John McBain] is really smart, and great at getting what the scene is about. Kamar [de los Reyes, Antonio] is so grounded in reality, and he is a good influence on me in that respect. Bree [Williamson, Jessica Buchanan] and Melissa [Archer, Natalie Buchanan] have been really fun to fight with."

    Amy:
If there were one person you could star opposite, anyone, who would it be?

    Kerry:
"Come on!! I can't choose just one person. I would choose different people based on different things. If I just wanted to work with an amazing actor I would choose Russell Crowe or Laura Linney. If I wanted to have fun and work with someone who would make me laugh, I choose Adam Sandler. If I wanted to work with someone dreamy I choose Gael Garcia Bernal."

    Amy:
Which excites you most, performing on stage in front of a live audience or on a closed set?

    Kerry:
"I honestly love acting any way I can. There are pros and cons to both. I feel so lucky to be a working actress, I never take that for granted. I know how many talented people there are who just can't get that break."

    Amy:
"You have a beautiful voice, and I see you've done quite a few recordings. Are there any plans for a solo CD in the future?"

    Kerry:
"Thank you!! Actually I am trying to do that right now. We are just in the planning stage. I think it will be more of a Broadway CD, since more people know me in that world."

    Amy:
Can you tell your fans something about yourself that they would never guess?

    Kerry:
"Every Saturday morning I roll out of bed and watch Sponge Bob Squarepants."

    Amy:
The staff at Soaps.com would love to hear what you think of our website. If you have time, can we get a quote from you? Thanks in advance!

    Kerry:
"It's a great site!! It seems like a fun place for fans to find out some inside scoops."

Again, Soaps.com wants to thank Kerry Butler for taking the time to talk with us today! You can learn more about Kerry and her career by visiting her website at: Kerry Butler.
