Nora and Bo enter Matthew's hospital room, and after Matthew expresses how eager he is to walk again, he wonders where Uncle Clint is. As Rachel and Greg join them, Bo breaks the news that Jared is dead - and that Mitch is alive. Though Matthew wants to go home for Jared's funeral, Greg reminds him that he can't be moved then Matthew urges Bo and Nora to go home, saying to his mom, "I'm sure Uncle Clint misses you." Bo and Nora say goodbye to Matthew, only because Rachel and Greg agree to stay in Seattle to watch him until they return, then remind him not to take his first steps until they get back.
Tea and Dani arrive at the hospital, and even though Matthew is off getting tests, Dani insists on waiting for him - alone! Across the room, Tea tells Rachel that she's leaving town, before Ross finds them, but Rachel warns that she better tell Todd the truth - and Tea agrees, but knows before she can find a way to tell Todd that they have a daughter together, she must tell Dani the truth.
Later, after Rachel convinced Tea to go back to the hotel to pack, and promised she'd keep an eye on Dani, Todd arrives at the Seattle hospital!
Her Quest To Keep Them Apart...
At the Seattle hospital, Rachel runs into Tea and is introduced to her daughter. After Rachel relays the news that Matthew is okay, Dani asks Rachel, since she's Tea's friend, why her mom keep her a secret from everyone in Llanview. Rachel assures Dani that she knew about her - and that Tea only stayed quiet for fear that Dani's father would take her away. After Dani goes to sit with Matthew, Tea knows it's only a matter of time before Todd figures out that Dani is his. Rachel warns that she better tell Todd the truth.
Goodbye Jared...
Over in Seattle, Dr. Nance approaches Bo and Nora with news about Matthew's surgery, apologizes for getting Matthew's hopes up then suggests that Bo and Nora convince Matthew that life in a wheelchair is better than no life at all. Bo flips out, pushes the doctor and screams, "How the hell could you do this to him… Get his hopes up!" Just then Greg and Rachel arrive, and Dr. Nance explains what happened in surgery - that there was too much scar tissue. With Bo and Nora's consent, Greg goes to scrub in to see if he can help Matthew! Later, Greg reappears and happily explains that he removed the tissue and is optimistic that Matthew will walk again! Nora throws herself into Greg's arms with thanks then Bo expresses his with a handshake.
After Nora and Bo rush off to Matthew's room, Rachel thanks Greg for helping her brother - and Greg credits Rachel, as well as Destiny and Shaun, for urging him to operate again. Greg wants to be like Shaun, a man who put his hurt aside to help someone else.
Mitch Shoots Jared!
Rachel goes to Greg's room and announces that she's going back to Chicago - because she doesn't want to get between him and his brother. Greg wants to be with Rachel, but she reminds him that his family is much more important than she is.
As Greg takes Rachel in a kiss, Destiny appears and says, "So, it's true," then doesn't waste time being mad - and demands that Greg get to Seattle to help Matthew! As Greg refuses to operate on Matthew, saying, "Des, I can't do this for you," Shaun appears and says, "Do it for me. You owe me."
Hi Ho Hi Ho Buchanan Hunting I Go!
Back in Llanview, Greg appears in the park, and Rachel explains how she ended things with Shaun - and how she lied about having feelings for Greg! Though Rachel doesn't want to pursue a relationship with Greg, for fear of hurting Shaun, Greg takes her in a kiss - and Shaun appears and sees them! As they break away from the kiss, regretting that they'll have to hide their feelings, Shaun approaches and lashes out at Rachel and Greg for playing him - behind his back! Though Shaun can't be sure how far Rachel went, he knows Greg went after her - then warns Rachel that Greg will get bored with her as soon as a new tail comes his way! Rachel apologizes but her apology means nothing to Shaun, who warns for them both to leave him the hell alone!
Until Death Do Us Part!
Just as Rachel admits to Nigel that her date tonight with Shaun is their last date, Shaun arrives at the Buchanan mansion. Once alone, Rachel starts to explain how Shaun made her feel safe, and as soon as Shaun gets the hint, he asks if her change of feelings have anything to do with his brother. Rachel talks about Shaun having stronger feelings for her than she has for him, which causes Shaun to say, "I hope you find what you're looking for. Whoever he is, he better treat you right, or I will make him sorry."
