Birthday: November 13, 1996
Shane catches Rex arriving home and asks, "Where were you?" Rex is evasive. Shane wonders what he did. Rex went back to Gigi's grave to make sure she was peaceful and to apologize for trying too hard to make things right, things Gigi would've talked him out of doing. Shane is sorry too, for being mad at Rex. He thinks Shane's perfect, but Shane doesn't think so. Neither of them can sleep, so they turn on the TV just in time to see Blanca's news report and Victor's body removed from the crime scene. Rex and Shane exchange an empty look. They watch as Brody orders Blanca off the Manning property. She vows to find out who killed Victor Lord. Rex thinks back to removing the gun from the safe. Shane recalls approaching the safe and says, "I wonder who did it." Rex doesn't think it matters. A lot of people hated Victor. "We're free from him now," Rex says but warns it would be disrespectful to Gigi's memory if they celebrated his death. Shane brings up Rex promising Jack and Victor would pay and figures they finally have. They talk about how steamed Brody appeared on TV and agree he seemed over the top. After Shane goes to bed, Rex looks at the safe.
Rex removes the gun from the Buchanan Mansion safe but replaces it when Shane appears. Shane thinks Rex had Gigi's body exhumed because he was looking for a clue. Rex denies finding one. Shane lashes out. Rex promised Jack and his father would pay then never did anything. That's why he went to Brody for help. Rex promises he's working on something. It's no comfort for Shane to have Victor and Jack stripped of all of their money. They'll still be alive, and Gigi will be dead. Later, Rex and Shane separately approach the safe.
At the Buchanan Mansion, Shane can't believe Rex had Gigi dug up. He wonders if the Mannings will ever pay for what they did to her. Later, Rex arms himself with a gun and vows to get justice for Gigi.
Brody arrives at the Buchanan Mansion. Shane asks for his help in making the Mannings pay for what happened to Gigi. Brody admits he thinks Jack was involved. Shane suggests Brody set up a sting to prove it. Shane talks about how guilty Jack's been appearing. Shane hates Jack and the man he calls his father and wishes they were dead. Brody thinks back to threatening Victor. He knows how it feels to want to make someone pay but Gigi wouldn't want Shane seeking revenge. Brody promises he'll get justice for Gigi.
Later, Kim appears at Gigi's gravesite and places her hand on the scratched off area. The caretaker startles Kim. He thought she was a vandal and admits he's never seen someone scratch off a death date on a headstone. Kim's stunned to hear Rex is on his way. He just ordered an exhumation. The caretaker clears the flowers from the headstone and is surprised to find Kim suddenly gone. Bo and Rex appear with a crew. Bo gives the okay for them to start digging, as Kim nervously watches from the shadows. The coffin is lifted from the grave and opened. Rex looks at Gigi and can't make sense of any of this. Kim looks on confused. Shane appears and demands to know how Rex could disturb his mom's grave. Rex promises to explain and ushers Shane away. Once Gigi's reburied, Kim places flowers at her grave.
Shane opens the Buchanan Mansion door and snaps, "What the hell are you doing here?" Jack talks about school starting and promises if Shane returns no one will bother him anymore. Shane doesn't believe Jack, who claims everyone will listen to him. Shane knows Jack's the leader and brings up his mother's death. Why didn't people follow him then? Jack tries to explain. Rex appears and orders Jack away. Jack assures Shane he meant what he said and leaves. Rex warns Shane he can't believe a word Jack says. He's a sociopath like his dad. Rex tells Shane he has to go out of town for a bit and promises to make everything okay again.
Rex watches the red carpet coverage at the Buchanan Mansion. Shane appears and reluctantly shows Rex his latest comic about bad guys always getting away with murder. Rex promises it won't happen this time. Shane doesn't care what Rex is planning and says, "Mom will still be dead." Later, Rex looks at a broken framed photo of Gigi and decides he has to go forward with his plan in order for Shane to move on. Rex takes a gun from the safe.
At the Buchanan Mansion, Rex vows to Shane that Jack and Todd will pay, starting today. Roxy and Echo join them. Roxy's upset to hear that Rex fired Nigel. "If you have a problem with that you can leave," Rex snaps. Echo privately urges Rex to take it easy on Roxy. They all just want to help him. Rex takes a call and hears 'the deal' was done. Echo warns Rex against taking down Todd and Jack. Rex warns if she tries to get in his way, he'll take her down too. "Your Grandpa Asa would be so proud," Echo replies and assures Rex she's on his side. Suddenly, Tea and Blair appear with their deepest sympathies. If they could change what happened they would. Rex wonders why they feel that way. It's not as though they could control what Jack's friend did, right? Rex thanks them again then sends the women on their way. Natalie arrives and asks to speak to Jessica after the memorial. "I'll think about it," Jessica replies and storms off. David follows Viki in and begs her to prove to Dorian that someone's trying to set him up. Echo listens from around the corner. Everyone gives Rex their final condolences. Later, Rex stares at a photo of Gigi, vowing Jack will know what it's like to lose his mother and Todd will know what it's like to lose his wife. Out in the foyer, Echo gets word that 'the package' was delivered.
Jack stands before Shane at the carriage house. Rex appears and flips out. Jack understands their upset with him, in regards to what happened to Gigi, and says, "I'm sorry." Rex wonders if that's Jack's way of confessing. Jack wants to explain and begins to do so, but Todd appears and stops him. "No, Dad," Jack says. "I want to tell them." Rex orders Todd to let Jack talk. Todd apologizes for Rex's loss and tries to drag Jack away. Rex stops them. Shane's stunned when Rex accepts Jack and Todd's apologies. He knows John would've never let Jack off if he were guilty. It's done, nothing can bring Gigi back. All she wanted was to end the issues between their kids. "What do you say we end it now?" Rex asks and extends his hand. Todd shakes it. After Todd and Jack leave, Rex admits he sucked up to Todd because it puts him exactly where Rex wants him. Todd and Jack will never see them coming.
Down the hall, Rex collects Gigi's personal belongings, including their wedding rings. Meanwhile, in Clint's room, Viki's happy to see Gigi's heart has enabled him to live. Shane storms in and asks, "Why do you get to live and my mom had to die?" Rex appears. Shane refuses to leave with him and blames Rex for giving Clint Gigi's heart. Viki takes Shane out into the hall, leaving Clint taunting Rex about not telling Shane the truth. Rex steps outside and listens as Viki comforts Shane about losing Gigi. After Viki leaves, Rex promises to tell Shane why he gave Clint Gigi's heart as soon as they get home. Back in Clint's room, Viki and Clint reflect on Shane's feelings. Viki wonders what was really behind Rex wanting all of Clint's assets. Clint accuses Rex of being a gold-digger. Viki doesn't buy it. Bo appears, glad to see Clint's okay. Clint stands by his confession and wonders if Bo's there to arrest him. He's not. After Bo leaves, Viki wonders who Clint and Bo are protecting and realizes it's Matthew. Viki warns Clint doesn't have the right to waste Gigi's heart by confessing to something he didn't do.
