    MICHAEL MCBAIN'S HISTORY

    Michael McBain grew up in Atlantic City in a family filled with grief after his father was shot and killed in the line of duty. After spending years in a boarding school, Michael went on to medical school, then arrived in town in 2003 as an intern at Llanview hospital.

    Living a life filled with pain, Michael grew up to be a bitter man. Although Marcie Walsh befriended him, she was reeling with her own grief after losing the love of her life Al Holden and found it hard to tolerate Michael's rash mood swings and crude behavior. Here's where Michael's life took a turn for the worse. Surprisingly, after having a bad reaction to a certain medication, Michael died before Marcie's eyes.

    What people didn't realize was that Marcie had been having 'real' visions and conversations with her deceased boyfriend Al. On the day Michael died, Al was there in Angels Square and took over Michael's body! In order to live again, Al had until Valentine's day for Marcie to realize it was indeed him inside of Michael's body. With a love so strong, Marcie recognized Al in Michael's eyes and the two were able to live their lives together with Al's soul in Michael's body as Al's spirit went to heaven with Michael's soul.

    Michael turned out to be a major asset to Llanview hospital. With the help of Marcie, Michael spied on Dr. Long and Paul Cramer and revealed that the two had been working together and making money by illegally stealing and selling organs from dead patients without the family's permission!

    Throughout the years, Michael and Marcie have had their ups and downs. After Marcie shared an old manuscript with Michael that she'd written titled The Killing Club, Michael convinced her to find an agent and introduced her to Hayes Barber. Little did Michael know, Hayes was the sole mastermind behind the Killing Club killings. Although he lost many friends during Hayes's killing spree, Michael was thankful that Marcie's life was spared.

    In 2006, Michael went on to marry Marcie and the two recently adopted baby Tommy who lost his parents in a tornado. Although Michael hired Rex Balsom to find Tommy's birth parents, Rex didn't have the heart to tell him and Marcie that Tommy is really the biological son of Todd Manning!

    With the near tragic death and recovery of his brother John weighing heavily on Michael's mind, Michael had to face his biggest hardship after finding out Todd Manning was Tommy's biological father!

    Although Michael did everything to keep the secret, eventually the truth was exposed and he was forced to admit to Marcie that he knew the truth all along. Furious, Marcie packed up Tommy, left town, leaving Michael with not only a broken heart but fearing for what will happen to Marcie once she's found!

    After Marcie was tracked down and captured in Texas, Tommy was returned to Todd, and Marcie and Michael's marriage had fallen apart. Months later, just when they appeared to get back on track again, Starr Manning approached Michael and Marcie about adopting her unborn child, to which Marcie accepted, leaving Michael not wanting to go down that path of disappointment again - in turn, leaving Marcie on her own.

    However, Marcie was never given the chance to raise Starr's baby, as everyone believed the little girl, Hope, had died at birth, but was really switched with Jessica Buchanan's stillborn child. This turn of events drew Michael back to Marcie, promising never to leave her alone again.

    After it was revealed that Starr's baby was really Chloe, Michael planned to help Marcie raise her - until Marcie gave her back for Cole and Starr to raise. Just as Michael and Marcie were moving to Seattle, Marcie became pregnant and the couple set out on a new life outside of Llanview.

    However, Michael did return briefly to help Gigi and Rex undercover the truth about Stacy Morasco.

    Michael and Marcie returned to Llanview in November 2011 to share their pregnancy news with John. During their visit, Michael pestered John about his lingering love for Natalie.

    Friday, October 28 2011: Hogtied To The Altar Before Long.

    Michael answers John's door to Roxy, who jokes about him being John in a Michael costume. John sighs when Roxy says, "I've got some news for Johnny that's going to rock his world." Natalie accepted Brody's proposal only after she heard John say he didn't love her. If she'd stayed and heard that John really does love her, Natalie would've never agreed to marry Brody. Shaun barges in dressed as Michael Jackson, looking for his Britney Spears. John hears they're heading to Natalie's engagement party. Before Roxy leaves, she begs John to do the right thing and tell Natalie that he loves her. Later, over beers and a game of Battleship, Michael questions John about Natalie then assures him he'll make new dreams. John answers the door to trick-or-treaters. He doesn't have candy, hands over some cash and sends the kids on their way. Michael continues drilling John about still loving Natalie. He begs John to be honest with Natalie. "It's not going to happen," John replies.

    Thursday, October 27 2011: How Could Victor Take Liam?

    At John's, Marcie and Michael talk about John's lack of MyFace use. His status still says 'Getting married'. Over talk of Brody and Natalie being engaged, and having a kid, Marcie brings up how Brody reacted to losing Shane years ago. He went over the edge. John thinks about Brody threatening Victor and admitting it was all about Liam. Michael wonders what John's thinking about. Marcie gives them some time alone and leaves. John fills Michael in on Brody threatening Victor and Brody's mention of Liam. "How could Victor take Liam from Brody?" Michael asks. John wonders if Brody thought he could lose Liam somehow. Michael can't make sense of it, especially since Liam is Brody's son.
