At the mansion, everyone listens as Andrew says, "I'm afraid I have some bad news." Dorian starts crying and screaming, "Where's Cassie! What's happened to her?" Suddenly, Cassie enters the room and rushes into Dorian's arms. Though Dorian is happy that all of her girls are there, Cassie cries, "There's been a death." Dorian thinks it's Langston, but Cassie breaks the news that it's Dorian's sister. Blair immediately thinks it's Addie, but Cassie tells Kelly she's sorry, it's Melinda. Kelly cries for her mother, who Cassie explains died last night of a heartache. Over on the couch, Dorian confesses to Adriana that Melinda didn't have a heart condition - she received medical reports every month. Across the room, Blair and Starr can't get a hold of Langston and watch as Kelly beats herself up to Cassie, Dorian, Adriana and Andrew about the last time she talked to her mother.
From within his apartment, Langston breaks her kiss with Ford and tries to talk herself into leaving. After Ford tempts her to explore her wild side, Langston still claims to love Markko. Ford continues taunting her and accuses Langston of hiding behind Markko because she's afraid to be left alone - like her parents left her. She tries to fight his words but can't deny that she's always taken care of herself then shares her past loneliness with Ford - and how Dorian saved her. Ford sympathizes with her, and suggests she write her life story, but warns she can't live in her safe place forever - that's why she's there. "You came here because you wanted to break free," Ford says, and Langston gives way to the passion between them!
When they make their way into Ford's bedroom, he removes Langston's necklace, the one from Markko, then carries her to his bed - where they have sex! Afterwards, Langston appears to be enjoying Ford's arms around her - until she gets a text that Dorian's sister died. Ford hands Langston her necklace, tells her he's sorry then falls to the bed, once she rushes out, laughing about his last conquest!
Hannah shows up at Cole's apartment, wanting to work on their project. When she hears a baby crying from the other room, Hannah questions if Cole is a nanny. Cole talks about his daughter and says Starr lives with him too. Hannah wonders if he ever feels as though he's missing out, and Cole gives her the short story of him and Starr becoming parents - and how he wanted to keep Hope. As Hannah admits she wanted what Cole and Starr have, Hope cries, and Cole goes to check on her. When he returns, Hannah confides how she was in love with a special guy once, who broke her heart, but admits it was the best thing that he could have done for her. Suddenly, Cole gets a call from Starr, about Melinda, then apologizes to Hannah when he has to tend to Hope again. Cole loves his life, but Hannah suggests they meet at her dorm next time then leaves…
Langston arrives at the mansion and rushes into Dorian's arms, crying, "I should have been here." As Dorian nods toward Langston's new cousin, Kelly, Blair approaches Kelly and tries to comfort her, saying, "You did right by your mother." Kelly accepts Blair's hug while Dorian warns Andrew that Mitch was behind Melinda's death - and they all have to be on their guard!
Over at Statesville, a guard informs Mitch that Roxanne Balsom is back. Though Mitch dreads another yell-fest with Roxy, he's pleasantly surprised to see Allison, who is there to deliver good news. Allison brings Mitch up to speed on Jessica's recovery, including that she doesn't remember Mitch, then says, "But that's not what I came to tell you… A Cramer woman is dead." After Allison relays that Melinda Cramer died of natural causes, Mitch brings up a task that he needs Allison to complete… Allison promises to carry out Mitch's plan. After Allison leaves, Mitch vows that his work in Llanview is not done!
Brody finds Roxy drinking booze at the diner and accepts a spike to his coffee. Over talk of Jessica, Roxy assures him that he and Jessica can beat Mitch. "She'll come back to you," Roxy says. Layla appears, and Brody tells her that Cris is visiting Jessica. Layla knows they are old friends, but when she hears that Jessica doesn't remember past high school, she asks, "Does she still think she loves Cristian?"
Roxy empties her flask, as she leaves the diner, claiming there's not enough booze in the world to make her forget about Mitch Laurence - and Allison secretly follows her!
In her hospital room, Cris pulls away from Jessica's kiss and asks, "What was that?" Jessica explains the last thing she remembers is high school, even though she realizes it's thirteen years later, but admits Cris is the only person she loves. Cris is blown away, as they talk about how much older they look, how Asa died and when Jessica refers to him as the love of her life. "Don't you still love me?" she asks. Gently, Cris says a lot has changed since then and tries to explain why they broke up - because she cheated on him. Jessica is devastated, but Cris assures her they are great friends, but he has a girlfriend. "Do you love her?" Jessica asks, and Cris admits he does. She wants to be happy for Cris, and scolds herself for ruining what they had, but Cris has to leave for his new job and explains, "I'm going to teach art." Jessica is excited for him for holding on to his dream and feels as though she's still a student at Llanview High, where Cris is going to be teaching. Cris talks about all of the people who Jessica has in her life now, and promises she's going to be okay, then leaves. "But I love you, Cris," Jessica says to herself.
