At the airport, as Dorian is ready to board her flight to Texas, she runs into David and Alex, wanting to know, “David, what are you doing here – and with her?” Though Dorian and Alex throw potshots at each other, David explains how he became a cabana boy and how he meant Alex! When Dorian extends an invite for David to stay with her, Alex finishes David’s sentence and blurts out, “We’re married!” After Dorian laughs their marriage off, the joke is on her when David clarifies the truth!
Taking Dorian aside, David admits that he married Alex for her money – and that’s it! Although Dorian tells David to divorce Alex now, David assures her he’ll prosper greatly from this – with no chance of getting burned! However, as David gives Alex a little wave, Alex again hears Nigel telling Max that David is Asa’s son! When Alex appears next to David's side, she explains having some business with the Buchanan's to which Dorian announces that they are all in Texas for the reading of Asa’s will! Hearing Dorian is heading to Texas to be with Clint, Alex invites herself- and David - to go with, mentioning, “Asa may have left me something in his will – and you, David.”
When Starr, Langston, and Markko arrive back to the mansion, Carlotta explains she’ll be staying there while Dorian is in Texas. Although everyone tries to calm Starr, Starr snaps in a panic for fear the worst has happened to Cole! After everyone fills Carlotta in, she leaves to check on the diner, leaving Starr with a plan to find Cole! “Something is wrong,” Starr says. “We all know it!” Trying to stop Starr from leaving, Markko and Langston convince her to get her computer and conduct their search from home!
Later, after emailing everyone she knows, looking for Cole, Starr stares at some of Cole’s pictures online then says, “Something’s wrong… and we all know it.” Over talk of what to do next, Starr goes on, “I’m afraid if we don’t do something soon, it’s going to be too late.” Suddenly, Carlotta rejoins them and urges the kids to stay put, sit and eat something! Through tears, Starr whispers to Langston, “What if Cole is already dead?”
Just as Marcie tucks Tommy in, someone knocks on her motel door! After hearing it’s Gigi at the door, Marcie quickly gets back in disguise then invites Gigi and her son inside. When Shane speaks of his hero father, Marcie sees a bit of uneasiness fill Gigi’s face. After Gigi allows Shane to go over to the Café, Marcie apologizes for what happened to Shane’s dad to which Gigi replies, “You have to do what you have to do.” In reference to raising her son alone, Marcie asks, “How do you know if you’re doing the right thing?” Marcie starts rambling about how she had to leave town and how worried she is that ‘Billy’s’ rich dad is going to find them. However, Gigi reminds Marcie that as long as she’s with her little boy she’ll be fine. Although Marcie talks about leaving town, Gigi tries convincing her to put down roots in Paris, Texas. When Shane returns, Gigi promised to introduce Marcie to 'all the girls’ at the Café then says, “We’ll take real good care of you and Billy.”
After Charlie explains he’s looking for his son – one he doesn’t get along with – he admits he’s been following a lead – one that should lead him to his son right there in Texas! When Viki asks what made Charlie want to reconnect with his son, he expresses how fast life goes by and how he was hoping the bad blood between them could change. Viki briefly talks about how well she and her kids get along – the ones who live faraway, back in her ‘real’ life – then says how she needed a break from her life and just walked off! Charlie continues listening as Viki talks about how she’s been enjoying her life in Texas and says that’s the main reason why she doesn’t want to lead Charlie on. After Viki admits to being very unhappy ‘back at home’, Charlie suggests, “So maybe you should stay.” However, no matter how charming Charlie is – or how much she’d like to ‘stay’ in Paris, Texas – she knows one day she’ll have to return home. In spite of everything, Charlie and Viki make plans for another date!
Back at her motel room, just as Charlie leans in to kiss Viki, Gigi and Shane come out of the room across the hall, claiming they just came from seeing a friend. After Gigi leaves, Viki and Charlie head into their own rooms, as Marcie hangs out the do not disturb sign!
As the words out of Asa’s mouth state, “I leave you exactly nothing,” everyone wonders what Asa has in store for B.E. to which Beaver assures Clint, “Oh, don’t you worry, your daddy had it all figured out – and it’s a dosey!” Restarting the video, Asa says his fortune will stay in trust, and be redispersed at a later date, if his terms are met! “The company will be shared by each and every one of you,” Asa goes on. “What you do will determined its future – and your own!” Asa then explains that although everyone in the family will get equal shares, he’s set it up so no one can ever sell or trade their shares! Asa’s goal states, “If you all get along, the company will grow.” And so will their pocketbooks! On one last note, Asa appears to get choked up and says, “I do love you, every last one of you… goodbye.” It isn’t until the screen goes blank that Matthew cries out, “No… He’s gone…”
When Nigel brings in the champagne, although some think Asa’s plan may very well be a recipe for disaster, Renee objects and adds, “I think it all makes perfect sense.” Though Renee claims it may not always be easy, she says, “Asa’s real legacy is the love in this room.” Everyone lifts their glass to Asa…
