Upstairs, Sarah tells her father how guilty she feels for not having visited Asa since arriving back in town. As only a father can, Cord comforts his daughter…
Although Lindsay wants to be there for Bo, Nora warns, “Bo’s state of mind is of no concern of yours.” As Nora and Lindsay argue, Alex approaches and asks, “Are you two still fighting over Bo? I guess some things never change.” After Alex asks if they’ve had the reading of the will yet, she sighs, “Okay… I’m just going to roam around my old house then.” After Renee leaves to warn security, Lindsay gives in to Nora and says, “You’re right, I don’t belong here.” Lindsay walks out the door.
In the sables, although Clint picks up Asa’s hat and questions why Bo is so angry with their father, Bo takes a swig of whiskey then tells Clint to grieve his way, “And I’ll grieve mine.” After Clint warns Bo to show Asa some respect, Bo claims, “He never showed me any respect, why should he deserve it?” In a drunken rage, Bo screams to Clint of the times Asa has disregarded him – and his job – then says, “He was embarrassed by me!” Clint leans in close and whispers, “Pa was jealous… of you.” After Clint explains how much Asa loved and admired him for not taking any shortcuts in life, through tears, Bo breaks down with Asa’s hat in his hands…
Suddenly, Nora checks in to see how Clint and Bo are doing. After informing them that Alex arrived, Nora suggests they all go up to the house to be with Renee. Although Bo wants to stay behind, he gives his thanks to Clint, as Nora’s heart breaks for Bo, Clint and Asa…
Later, when Matthew finds Bo in the stables holding Asa’s hat, Bo tells Matthew a story about how, as a little boy, always wanted to grow up to be just like Asa. Putting a smile on Bo’s face, Matthew says, “That’s funny because when I grow up I want to be just like you.”
Locked in the wine cellar, Dorian claims it was meant to happen then says, “Maybe we’re supposed to have it out once and for all.” Although Viki thinks Dorian wants to talk about Clint, she’s shocked when Dorian brings up Victor Lord and says, “I’m the one who killed him.” However, Viki doesn’t believe Dorian and reminds her of Victor reappearance years later then says, “Neither of us killed him.” Dorian then turns the attention to Viki – and her empty life – and asks what it really means to her. Outside the door, Alex listens in with a smirk as Viki names off everything that's important in her life - despite how her father tried to ruin it. “What about love?” Dorian asks. “My point is… You have 'One Life to Live'… What are you going to do with the rest of your life?” Before things get further out of hand, Nigel arrives with an apology for not warning Viki about the sticking door latch.
After toasting to their grandfather, Jessica, Natalie and Kevin start grilling Joey about his love life. When Joey’s connection to Dorian comes up, everyone jokes about him being Dorian’s ‘boy toy!’ Over all the memories, although Natalie wishes she would’ve grown up with them, Kevin reminds her that Asa loved them all the same. As Jessica, Kevin and Joey tell Natalie about a time when Asa got onstage to sing “Chantilly Lace,” the siblings all get up and dance while singing the tune in remembrance! From the doorway, Viki and Clint watch on…
In Asa’s office, after Blair breaks the kiss, she asks Max, “What was that for?” Although Blair thinks Max is just grieving for Asa, Max claims the kiss was all about Blair. “I don’t want to lose you again,” Max says. “I’m leaving town soon and I want you to come with me.” Blair explains that she’s touched but that she can’t go back to Argentina with him. Over talk of Todd, Blair admits, “He’s in my blood,” which causes Max to reply, “I’m happy for you. You two deserve to be happy.” Once Blair leaves, sadness fills Max’s eyes.
Once Blair is gone, Nigel appears with a need to confess… “I know something but I’m not sure if I should share it… Mr. Buchanan has another son. It’s David Vickers.” After Nigel explains he – and Max – are the one living people who know, Max suggests waiting a while to tell the family. “But when you do it,” Max says. “It has to be done right.” Just as Max is promising, “As far as I’m concerned, no one else has to know that David Vickers is Asa’s son,” Alex overhears from outside the door and whispers, “Jackpot!”
After Alex rushes outside, she makes a call saying, “I need to locate someone… David Vickers.”
All over Llanview, family and friends of Asa Buchanan try to find closure… Blair looks at a newspaper, Nigel stares at the four walls of Asa’s office, Nora covers Bo and Matthew as they sleep in the sables, Renee feels the pain of being in her bedroom alone, and Clint pours his father one last drink of bourbon…
At the airport, after Viki says goodbye to Kevin and Joey as they head back to London with Cord, she goes to the counter and purchases a one-way ticket to ‘anywhere.’
