We first met "One Life To Live's" January LaVoy as the perky pie-making waitress at the Bon Jour Café in Paris, Texas. Now, the actress is set to take the stage in a new project that refers to a city of the same name. LaVoy will play Lena Jefferson in the Pearl Cleage play "What I Learned In Paris."
The romantic comedy, set in 1973 Atlanta, tracks five characters following their triumphant crusade for the city's first African American mayor, Maynard Jackson. Through love and politics viewers will get a look at some of the important social changes of the 1970s.
The production will run from September 5 through 30 with performances Tuesdays through Thursdays at 7:30 PM, Fridays at 8:00 PM, Saturdays at 2:30 PM and 8:00 PM, and Sundays at 2:30 PM and 7:30 PM at the Alliance Stage at 1280 Peachtree Street in NE Atlanta, Georgia. Visit the Alliance Theatre or call 1-404-733-5000 to reserve your seats today.
LaVoy played Llanview's Noelle Ortiz from 2006 to 2011 and was recently seen as Summer in "Melody Set Me Free."
