Talks To One Life to Live's David Fumero! image

David & Kim Shaw (Greetings From The Shore)

He's one of daytime's hottest actors and a huge fan favorite on the One Life to Live scene! Recently, I had a chance to chat with David Fumero (Cristian Vega) about his upcoming September 12, 2008 film release Greetings From The Shore!

Produced by Greg Chwerchak, the movie surrounds a young girl's journey, as she deals with the death of her father, and one last summer at the Jersey Shore. However, even the best laid plans are bound to endure some bumps in the road - and an unexpected love along the way… in the form of David - who will be playing Benicio Aceveda, opposite Kim Shaw (Jenny Chambers)!

Amy: Can you tell us a little about the character who you play and how you prepared for this?

David: "Benicio Aceveda is Cuban born, an artist, simple, kind of like Cristian Vega. He knows several languages, is a bit of a gypsy, a true believer and lives life one day at a time."

Amy: How were you approached to be the film's leading man?

David: "A friend of mine from a management company called me about the script. I was in New York at the time and auditioned. I loved the script and got the part. It just sort of happened."

Amy: Did you find it tough to juggle your workload at One Life to Live while shooting the film?

David: "It was tough, but I was pumped with adrenaline. You got tired, but it didn't matter. It all came together so well."

Amy: What was the easiest part of the movie to film? The hardest? Any memorable moments you'd care to share?

David: "It was a new experience. Greetings From The Shore was fast. It was about twenty-five days to shoot. I met some great friends. A bunch of us guys lived in a house together, and there was a lot of camaraderie that was built between us. This was totally different from daytime."

Amy: Will your fans see any similarities in your film character compared to your daytime role as Cristian Vega?

David: "They're both artists, good guys. Benicio is a loner whereas Cristian is always finding himself in one mess or another. Trouble seems to follow him."

Amy: Now's your chance! If you could only say one sentence to lure your fans to see your new film, what would your slogan be?

David: "Come hang out at the beach for two hours!" is excited to be getting an inside viewing of Greetings From The Shore, and I'll be sure to bring you my personal review as soon as possible! However, I can tell you right now, being a big fan of David's work, I just know the movie will be a success! If you're in the New Jersey/New York area, you'll want to mark your calendars for this Friday, September 12, 2008 and visit the Greetings From The Shore website for a list of all the theaters showing David's film!

For those who left questions for David on our One Life to Live Message Board, stay tuned, as I'll be bringing you his answers later this week!
