"She was flowing across the lake, acting like she was Cleopatra."
This week's "One Life To Live" flashback Friday takes us back to 1994 to the lavish Egyptian wedding of Asa Buchanan and Alex Olanov. As everyone knows, Alex was a gold-digging schemer, who married many times in the name of money.
After divorcing Carlo Hesser, Alex wrangled her way into the heart of Llanview billionaire Asa Buchanan. Asa tried to resist Alex's charms but finally gave in and promised his bride-to-be the wedding of a lifetime. With his family gathered in Central Park, Alex, dressed as Cleopatra, was rowed across the lake during a formal procession. Asa's family was in awe, and some even burst out in laughter, at the sight of it all.
However, getting to the actual ceremony was another story, and Alex was kidnapped by two nuns in disguise, who were out to blackmail Asa for her safe return. Alex managed to get away, and in true Asa fashion, he made the men watch the ceremony as punishment before their arrests.
Relive the moment when Asa and Alex tied the knot during this over-the-top event, which almost didn't happen…
