    Emmy Coverage: Lifetime Awards

    Tuesday, June 12 2007

    James Lipton Creative Arts
Entertainment Awards is pleased to bring you word that James Lipton, of Inside the Actor's Studio, (and ex- soap star) will be standing up to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award along with television pioneer Lee Phillip Bell, (along with her late husband, William J. Bell) co-creators of Y&R and sister soap, B&B.

James will be honored for his life's work as The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences presents its Lifetime Achievement Award to James Lipton, who is the creator, executive-producer, writer and host of the 12-time Emmy-nominated Bravo series, "Inside the Actors Studio."

Jim Lipton is not only an accomplished director, choreographer, producer, writer of stage and television but he is also a published author! He played parts in both Guiding Light and the now defunct, Another World.

The award will be presented to Lipton at the Creative Arts & Entertainment Emmy Awards on Thursday, June 14 in Hollywood.

Peter Price, President and CEO of The National Televison Academy says, "Jim Lipton knows everything there is to know about acting and actors. He loves the craft of acting and has instilled that passion in his screen writing, acting, and producing as well as in his teachings to drama students and his documentation of the life stories of the most successful actors. With years of extraordinary success, Jim Lipton deserves this Lifetime Achievement Award."

Lipton himself stated, "'Achievement' is a word I associate much more readily with others than with myself, so it comes as a stunning surprise to learn that a peer group I respect has elected to honor me for what felt like nothing more than putting one foot patiently in front of the other, day after day, without the remotest idea - or expectation - that it would lead me to this thrilling moment."

Inside the Actor's Studio has been presented with 12 Emmy nominations in the past and is proudly the largest graduate drama school in America. Pace University boasts to housing the studio.

In mid October of 2007, Lipton's newest book, "Inside Inside" will be published by 'Dutton'. The book is an account of the past 13 years of his life as the dean of the ASDS and creator of Inside The Actor's Studio. Proves to be an interesting read for those interested in the behind-the-scenes stories.

Lipton resides in Manhattan with his wife Kedakai Turner Lipton, who is a vice-president of the Corcoran Real Estate Group.
