I am all for whatever stops Elena's whining and crying every ep. I hoped making her a vampire would turn off her crippling compassion, but it only made it worse. So if making her human again will stop it, part of me is for it, but then why make her a vampire just to cure her after one season?
To me it was stupid to have her turn at all if not to keep her that way. Try could have let Bonnie save her, she almost did before Grams butted in. Julie Plec said Elena was going to be a vampire and they were committed to it. Four episodes in, there is a cure ~) so much for commitment.
Forget the books, forget stopping the whining....do you feel it was a cop out to make Elena a vampire, fail to change her personality and then offer a cure so soon into it?
I often feel a lot of what they do on the show winds up being pointless and to me having a cure this soon is another example of it.
