Reva's condition

I know how soaps make dead people come alive and all but I'm curious what you think about Reva's cancer? How are they going to cure this one?

The weirder the better. :-)

I don't know how they are going to do it. It may be that her will to get revenge on Josh and Cassie is so strong that her body beats the cancer by itself.

I believe that it is time for Reva to show all what she is made of. And i do believe revenge will be her motive for beating the cancer, :))

Reva is out of touch with reality. If she is that sick, why doesn't she want to spend her last moments with her family?

I think this whole story line has been tremendous for breast cancer awareness, but I hope the general public does not take their cue from the Reva character on how to handle it as far as telling family about their cancer.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Reva character, but this has got to be the most selfish thing she has ever done. She is not protecting her family, she is denying them the time to spend with her, if by chance her character dies, (which she is not because I think I read she did sign a new contract),look at the time the family can never get back.

I'm ready for her to quit playing the dieing martyr and get back to face the music for her actions in taking off in the first place. I am not buying the whole "I did it for Josh so he would not put his project on hold" thing. The man has worked very little on his project in the last few weeks, he has been too busy rushing off to help the maiden in distress (Cassie) to work :-)

Here here!

And, Glowery, nice post! I agree. It's admirable when soaps use these storylines to educate! ;)

I don't know about whether Reva is being let go. Haven't heard anything. Maybe Carey knows. :)

Guiding Light has had a lot of budget issues but Kims contract is secure. There were rumors last year that she was let go because she wouldn't renegotiate her contract in the midst of the budget problems and wouldn't accept less pay. She said she'd be happy to negotiate when her contract comes up. BTW, hers is the first contract they negotiate because of her character and her years on GL.

SO don't worry anybody, Kim is staying put. How could anyone else play Reva.

And to add to that, she's such an amazing actor - you almost really think she does have cancer in real life but she's very healthy and fine. I love her acting!

The thing about this storyline (Reva's cancer) is that Guiding Light has taken what would be an already powerful story and added a twist to it that makes it even more interesting and entertaining (Cassie and Josh getting together while Reva is fighting cancer). We have all seen sickness on daytime drama before, but I have to give GL kudos for thinking outside of the box really making the fans feel all of these mixed emotions. (and oh, I cannot wait for Reva's revenge.... that should be good)!

On that note, I would just like to say that I absolutely love the work that Ellen Wheeler (executive producer) has accomplished since she started. She was outstanding as an actress on Another World, behind the scenes at ATWT and now at GL.

Shannon :))
