%( I am curious if they are going to continue with Hal's character...I mean he has been getting Parker's things for a long time now...Also what about Rosanna, Craig, just to name a few...are these people coming back???

To be honest I don't want them to bring Hal's character back. It is one thing when the actor who plays the character is fired from the show, or leaves on their own accord, to replace them with another actor. But when the actor who plays the character dies in real life, especially one who has played that character for so many years, then the character needs to die off also.

The Hal character needs to be killed in the line of duty, and then there can be some kind of memorial just for him. I know the memorial scene for Jennifer was dedicated to the man who played Hal, and maybe because his death was a suicide (?), they felt this was a more fitting memorial.

We all know the actor has passed on, now it time to let Hal go also.

At least finish the story...I mean the poor guy has been on the show for years...I think she should have the proper goodbye as well...just because he died...do it out of respect for him and his character...not to mention the loyal fans of his...i'm not saying bring him back or even another character...but do something with the character instead of just letting it hang hoping people will forget...well some of his fans won't ever forget and will wonder...he deserves that respect...just my opinion...just like everyone elses.

I read that they will not bring Hal's character back and that is for sure. They say he only deserves to retire the character seeing as how he played the role for so many years. Jeffery Meek joins the cast as Craig Montgomery. Craig has been in jail since August 2005.

They could possibly bring the guy I think is name is Randolph Mantooth or something back to do a scene where he gets killed trying to get the slasher and then they could give Hal the big funeral that the character deserves and give a final tribute to Ben Hendrickson with all his old scenes and with everyone giving their favorite memories of Hal. It would only be fitting to end the character that way or they could have a phone call from Hal to Margo saying he has identified the slasher and is going to get him or her and with all the old footage of him they could piece it together to use Ben Hendrickson himself and then show him dead on the floor with the old footage where he was nearly killed many times before during the line of duty and then they could have a police funeral for a beloved character rather than just pretending he is getting his sons things. They owe this much to the wonderful man who dedicated so much of his life to Hal and As the World Turns.
