Victoria's sad face...

Postby feronie » Thu Sep 04, 2008 2:01 am

Can Victoria smile? Does she ever seem happy? Looks like JT would get tired of her whining, sniveling, crying, and
self-centered ways. She is getting ON MY LAST NERVE.

Victoria's character is destined to always be in turmoil, even when Heather Tom played the role she always had a pained look on her face. Look at the recent turn of events:
She was in an almost death explosion
Was in a Coma
Delivered her long awaited child while in a coma
Her parents divorced while in a coma
Her "brother" from out of nowhere appears and causes her grief.
She and her BFF have a falling out
Her mother is almost killed by a maniac
Her father dies.....
She must be superhuman to endure all this.

When Heather Tom left the show, I thought I'd never accept anyone else as Victoria - but I was wrong. This actress has grown on me and I think she's brought a softness and sensitivity to the character that Heather never did. I agree she has been Miss Mope lately, but I wouldn't blame the actress - just the situations she is supposed to be responding to.

Heather's Victoria was hard and brittle and could be very cruel. I never liked the way she treated Nina. I LOVED Ryan and Nina together and thought they were adorable. When Nina lost their baby, Heather's Victoria was mean, spiteful and snarky. When Heather's Victoria lost little Grace, Nina came to see her at the hospital and told her that she knew how she was feeling.

I suppose I could argue with myself and say that this was the fault of the writers as well - but I'm not so sure. I believe the actress herself can do a lot to shape the character.

ICAM!!!!! That is definitely a lot to go though. She has definitely had reasons to be sad. But, I've saw her smile. I just believe that she has had a reason to be upset. Look at everything she had gone though.

I for one love Victoria! I think she plays the part very well. She hasn't had a whole lot to smile about lately. She handles better then I would. I'd be in severe depression.

So glad to see someone else defend Victoria. ITA
