The ratings have been posted late again this week when it is almost time for the ratings for last week, February 17-21, 2017, to be posted. Oh well, we accept what we get when we get it.

Although the ratings are still good, Y&R ratings are slipping downward a bit further than last week. I expect that to happen because the weather is getting a bit better--at least for us in the southern states. We have had almost spring-like weather here for the past week and folks are taking advantage of it. I did continue to read recaps but I did not watch much during this week so I don't have a lot to comment about as far as the quality of the show. Everything is pretty much the same.

All soaps are down in the 18-49 demographic. Y&R is still scrapping with all the other three soaps for domination in the 18-34 category. Y&R is #1 one week and this week they are last! BUT I can imagine that this battle will go on until the viwership and the ratings settle down. AH, I forgot this is the end of February sweeps. Ratings, I am almost certain, were higher for this new regime than for any other sweeps period. Hopefully we shall se how the viewership & ratings hold up during the remainder of this period before May sweeps.

I did enjoy the gala (thru warts and all the inattention to details) that started on that Friday and continued into the next week. I know that the writing still needs a lot of work and there were a lot of strange occurences at the gala but it was something different. It was a bit of fun and entertainment for me to see the characters get all dressed up and interact with each other on a social level. The gala was an event that took this viewer away from all the WTD, contrived romantic couplings, babynapping & everything else that is standard fare for Y&R these days. Loved that loud and crazy guy, Womack, who kept the crowd under control. But more of that should come up for next weeks ratings--not this weeks.

If you wish to comment, plese share your thoughts. All posts are welcome.

They lost 46,000.. omg.. according to MM fans, they measure in the millions.. lol.. and swore they would wipe Y&R off the map.. with NOOOOO thought to the other cast members and faithful viewers.

Y&R lost 193,000 from last week. Where did you get the 46,000 from? I mean no disrespect to any MM fan; but Outside of the on-line community & social media outlets, I doubt few know or recognize MM or who he played on Y&R! Y&R has been around for 40 years--41 years next month. MM has only been on it and part of the cast for 4 years as Adam Newman. Y&R will continue into its 41st year next month w/ or w/o an Adam Newman recast.

I really miss MM but I'm still watching as most of the viewers are. I'm not happy about what happened but I moved on. Now I'm waiting for the recast.

Wow, they've lost 437,000 viewers over the past 2 weeks since Adam disappeared and nuBilly started. I wonder if they will continue to go down next week or if this shedding of viewers will stabilize. I still dvr it but I FF through a lot of it like Abbey and Tyler, and nuBilly, and the redundant talking points about Leslie not wanting to marry. No romances that I am interested in really and a lot of disjointed, odd storylines. Summer being sucked in by evil Ian seems predictable. Chloe still grieving and now looney and babynapping like she used to dis Adam for, is not too realistic.

My feelings exactly! There is nothing interesting going on and the story lines are tired. Even the writing is strange lately?

Yes, I agree, kind of a strange, dark vibe going on. The show is very odd feeling right now. There's no "home"... no center to it.

In the grand scheme of things ratings are stable and healthy. 5.289 million viewers isn't shabby at all. Bad weather and the exit story of two popular actors led to historic ratings the last week of January--5.7 million. But the other 4 weeks were--5.313 million, 5.472 million(at the time a 5 year high),4.983 million, 5.376 million. There wasn't a single week in December and only one in November which averaged more than 5 million viewers. (Honestly I think only one week in all of 2013 averaged more than 5 million viewers.)The sky is hardly falling.

The show is so bad that I wouldn't care for a presidential or news interruption anymore! I'm still watching but I wonder for how long. The writing is just awful! The gala had no drama! The hostage crisis was a joke.
Why not pair Esther up with Murphy? I would watch that. I would love to see nick & Chelsea together. Colin & jill doesn't work now!
Jack needs to find a love again! Let Phyllis wake up!
Dylan & Avery are dull! I would love to see Skye come back from the dead! The writers need to write better for Neil & the winters family! As for JFP, she needs to go! She's the one with an ego!
