Quote ah76: In late 2011 James Scott signed a contract extension with the show that would have kept him on Days till May 2013.Now he may have renewed it for another year last year.Which means it could be up in a few months. Now with Allison Sweeney leaving in May that could affect James's decision.Since he joined the show in 2006 most of EJ's story have one way or another involved Sami.Plus in the latest issue of SOD Ail said she told Ken Corday she would love to come back one day and would be open to come back when there are weddings and funerals on the show or big events like the 50th anniversary in 2015.Plus since her contract expires in May Allison could spend the Summer with her kids and come September she could want to come back.So if James and Allison both leave the show could write Sami and EJ off together somehow but leave the door open for them to come back.
Money talks. If Ken does sign her for only 5 or 6 episodes a year she will probably want the same amount of money maybe even more. He could probably get Peter Reckell and Eileen Davidson back for the same amount and they would work full time. I know Peter would. He wants a story if he comes back. I would wait till The Biggest Loser got cancelled or gets a new host then negotiate a contract with Alison for a reasonable amout. I bet she comes back when The Biggest Loser gets cancelled
I have enough faith that Ali REALLY does want to spend uninterrupted time with her family at this stage of their lives. That decision would not prevent her from briefly returning to Salem for special events or plot demands, just like Julie, Kim, Shane, and other past actors have done for a few days.
......Consider me naïve--but I'd like to think that not every decision for some people is "all about the money." Come to think of it, couldn't that also apply to James Scott?
