But, I have to say I don't trust any of them now. For me Cory Booker's speech was too dramatic and felt like a performance. For all I know he could have been genuine in his emotion and views, but it made me a little uncomfortable for him. I want a politician to be firm in his/her delivery of their thoughts, but not so emotional. If a woman had shown that much emotion she would have been labeled hysterical. I like Kamala Harris but would not support her for president because I don't think she could win. I want someone who is qualified but also has a chance of succeeding. Neither of then are ready for the job but then neither was Trump. Too much time is spent on speculation, like with the Oprah for president buzz. The next presidential election will be here and dems will still be throwing out names of people who don't have a chance.

I agree with another poster regarding the dems forcing Franken out. That was a dirty move. It was designed to take center stage and give the appearance of the party being above reproach. They didn't want it to look like they were just after Trump and would let one of their own slide so they threw Franken to the wolves. I'm Debbie Downer today and will say I don't have total trust in any of the members of congress at the moment because of the deals they make. I will never understand how these bills get combined with things that are ludicrous. For my way of thinking all bills should be separate subjects so that the public has a better understanding of what is going on. I'm sick of hearing about the shutdown, dreamers, DACA, , deported fathers, Trump, the porn star and all of his other freaky behaviors.

Since I don't have a therapist does anybody have any tips for getting through this political climate? No, I cannot afford an exotic vacation at this time.

Sorry for overlooking the other posters posts. I guess my beef is that I do not think that Democrats were calculated; they allowed the GOP made fools of them. With all that has happened, some Democrats still do not know that Republicans have used moral highground as only a ruse, thus they would never have a clear shot at Trump. If Mueller discovers that Trump committed treason, “patriotic” Republicans will have the dotard’s back. My fear is if certain weak-kneed, gullible Democrats get in office, the GOP will continue to use them.

I do not know what to tell you. I grew up around Trump voters. Unfortunately, Republicans have been racist for a long time, but since they were attacking only blacks, no one cared. I regret that a lot of good people will be hurt by the shut down, but many hardcore, conservative towns in my area heavily depend on the federal government. I think that as long as righters can rant and rave about the evils of the federal government but enjoy its benefits, they were continue to behave as children. Hopefully this will calm down some of them.

It was all about Cory that day, positioning himself for his future and not about promoting the President's second term which was allegedly why he was there . I just think that Sen Booker would not be a strong candidate and the Democrats NEED a strong candidate in 2020. Now Kamala Harris, she's another story. She is a friggin' rock star. She wasn't over the top when questioning that slimy liar, Kirtsjen Nielsen. Kamala was cool as a cucumber, no yelling no drama just her super brain and courtroom experience showing through. She owned that snakey, smarmy Nielsen. Kirstjen Nielsen looks like she just stepped off a plane from Oslo and she "doesn't know" if Norway is predominantly white! GMAFB! Kamala busted her in the best way; exposing Nielsen as a liar or incompetent for her job. It was so satisfying to watch! Sen Harris is a force to be reckoned with. Kamala Harris 2020!!!!

Hello 2MuchTime, :D I'm a Jersey Lady, and I respect your opinion. Cory was a bit over the top, but he's a Jersey guy and a decent man and Senator, however I don't know if he as the "It Factor," to appeal on a national level to become President. Perhaps Vice President, to Joe Biden, might work. :geek: : I like Tamala Harris but unfortunately after 2016 I don't think this country will vote for a female President, no matter how superior her credentials are. That being said I would Support a Harris/Booker or Biden/Harris ticket for 2020. ;)

This shutdown is ridiculous. I always thought the issues should be separate bills and voted on accordingly. It seems I'm not the only one who believes that.

Richard Painter tweeted this: "Voters know that Trump and his cronies are 100% wrong on DACA and that the democrats are 100% wrong in linking that to the budget. Stop wasting our money with this foolish shutdown! Pass a budget. Then pass DACA and immigration reform. Or we vote you all out.

Brian Rose where are you????

Would like to know your thoughts on the shutdown and the stopped shutdown. Plus, who do you think the winners and losers were with the whole fiasco? Do you think the democrats were effective, mislead by the republicans or made the wrong decision?

Would like comments from anyone who has been paying attention to the details. Regretfully, I sort of tuned out a lot of it.
