Bars Of Soap Sent To CBS Studios Alerts FBI!

    Wednesday, January 06 2010

Fans of As The World Turns and Guiding Light are understandably angered by the cancellations of their soaps and pulled together during a campaign to try to change the minds of the Powers That Be - by asking fans to send bars of soap to the CBS Studios. However, they probably didn't plan on the FBI getting involved in their campaign…

A campaign created by fans to save the soaps in question has stated that those at the CBS Studio became concerned by all the packages they were getting, which alerted the FBI to look into the matter. Initially thinking the packages could possibly contain anthrax, many fans were asked, by the FBI and State Police, to stop sending out the message through packages - and asked to send letters instead. knows that Daytime has some of the most loyal fans, ones who will do just about anything to see their favorite dramas back on the air, such as Guiding Light, which was recently canceled, the cancellation of Passions and the most recent cancellation announcement As The World Turns Canceled, and we too are saddened every time news like this hits the soap world.

No, I didn't send any soap. This is the first time I've heard about this story. Maybe circulating a Petition to save As The World Turns is a better idea. Or contacting different cable networks encouraging them to pick up ATWT. (I've sent out a few e-mails to networks already. I received a response from Oxygen stating the message would be passed along to Programming.) Hopefully, rich risk taker will pick up As The World Turns.

Why not try the new Oprah Network. She once considered GL. I was going to send soap, glad I didn't. Think we should contact P&G. To keep up there promise in finding a new network. CBS is a lost cause.

Why couldn't Soap Net give As The World Turns and Guiding Light a home ? They have other shows that are not on TV any more ! If Soap Net gave them a home then we would still be able to watch them !

I finally received a reply from SoapNet. I was assured they would pass the message along to the appropriate department. Hopefully, SoapNet will pick up and add As The World Turns to their schedule. If not, maybe another network will.

I think that you guy's should leave "As The World Turns" on air. I also think that you guy's should put "Guiding Light" back on air. I know that they are just t.v. shows but the are like my life. When guy's took Guiding Light off air I was so upset. I was so upset that sometimes I cried myself to sleep. Like I said I know it is just shows but I loved them.
