Soaps.com spoke with pal Mike Gold today, who is the President of Soap Opera Mania, On Tour. He was sad to have to tell us that the tour has been postponed, indefinitely. Please review the note he has posted for fans on the website.
Dear Soap Fans,
We regret to inform you that Soap Opera Mania on tour has been postponed indefinitely.
If you have already purchased tickets for an upcoming event, WE WILL BE REFUNDING YOUR MONEY IN FULL DURING THE NEXT SEVERAL WEEKS. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this causes you.
We are disappointed that the tour must be put on hold. Our mission has never wavered: our goal is to bring you a first class, unforgettable, interactive fan event with today’s biggest stars. But we know that soap fans nationwide much they want to attend Soap Opera Mania on tour, the current economic circumstances prohibit many from being able to afford attendance at this time.
We want every soap fan who wants to attend to be able to attend. So rather than continue the tour where only some of you can come, we are going to postpone our plans until everyone who wants to come can do so.
We don’t want anyone’s ability or decision to attend to be a burden when we created this tour to be a fun, entertaining, fantasy-filled experience for each of you.

Soap fans all over the nation are about to get a real treat! Come February 7, 2009, the Soap Opera Mania tour will kick off in Macon, Georgia and deliver a fun filled experience for every soap lover!
Fans will get to meet stars from all eight soap operas including All My Children, As The World Turns, The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of Our Lives, General Hospital, Guiding Light, One Life to Live, and The Young and the Restless!
The highly publicized celebrity tour will span thirty locations where fans will get the chance to get up close and personal with their favorite stars! City selection will be based on high viewership areas such as Georgia, Ohio, West Virginia, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Texas, Florida, Michigan, Virginia, Missouri, Illinois, and the Carolinas - just to name a few!
Not only will this give fans a chance to get out and meet actors they may have never had the opportunity to meet, they'll also get to take part in Q&A and photo sessions, soap opera trivia games and those lucky enough to be chosen will get to act out in some fantasy scenes with their favorite hotties and divas alike! On hand will also be an experienced soap opera director from one of the soaps who will head a workshop, covering what it takes to write, produce and develop the storylines that keep us all on the edge of our seats daily! They'll also take fans down a walk through soap history and give them a little bit of insight into what's yet to come!
