Hollywood househunting, Beyoncé unveils her sexy GQ cover and Lance Armstrong heads to Oprah - all this and more in this week's Celebrity News.
Mi casa e su casa for Cruise?
Tom Cruise ("Rock of Ages," "Mission Impossible") will receive the welcome of all welcomes this week when he becomes an honorary citizen of Busan, South Korea. The recently divorced actor is currently on a promotional tour in the city for his police action thriller Jack Reacher. Busan is also home to the largest annual film festival in Asia. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Busan officials want to recognize Cruise's contribution to the film industry, noting that a visit from an actor of his caliber shines a beacon on promoting Busan's growing status within Asian cinema. Cruise's Jack Reacher co-star, Rosamund Pike ("Wrath of the Titans") and screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie ("The Usual Suspects") are also set to receive honorary citizenships.
Hot on the heels of Cruise's honorary citizenship is a supposed tell-all book, Going Clear: Scientology, Hollywood, and the Prison of Belief by author Lawrence Wright which claims to blow the lid off Scientology and includes an excerpt about the depth of the organization's involvement with the actor with shocking allegations that the church lured Cruise in and was not only instrumental in his breakup with second wife Nicole Kidman ("The Paperboy"), but also auditioned prospective mates for Cruise, like actress Nazanin Boniadi (ex-Leyla, "General Hospital"). According to a 2012 article in The Huffington Post, Cruise's lawyer, Bert Fields, reportedly maintains that the actor "has no official role, title or position in the Church of Scientology. He is simply a parishioner."
Haylor call it quits after the fight of all fights?
Breaking up is hard to do – even harder when you're a celebrity. But it would seem that the latest breakup news between Taylor Swift and Harry Styles isn't putting the brakes on either celebrity's day to day – or is it? After their much publicized smooch to ring in the New Year in New York's Times Square, the pair reportedly flew to the British Virgin Islands for a romantic getaway. But what started as some quality time together, reportedly and abruptly ended in a huge fight (over what, is still in question) with Swift, alone, back on a plane to Los Angeles and Styles partying it up on business mogul, Richard Branson's private abode, Necker Island, reportedly with new media journalist and reality TV personality Hermione Way. Despite reports that Swift's concert ticket sales have dropped dramatically post-breakup, a sultry-looking Swift arrived at the "People's Choice Awards" sporting a dramatic smoke-eye and wearing a revealing, figure hugging white Ralph Lauren gown with plunging neckline. The singer picked up an award for Favorite Country Artist.
The fight of all fights part 2 – Justin and Selena.
Wow, could things get any more complicated for Justin Bieber? Following the report of the death of a paparazzo who tragically died, certain that Bieber was smoking pot behind the wheel (he was not), to breaking up with on-again/off-again girlfriend Selena Gomez ("Spring Breakers," "The Wizards of Waverly Place"), to actually being photographed holding onto a suspicious-looking cigarette-could-be-reefer… January 2013 is turning out to be a pretty lousy month for Justin Bieber and his handlers. The pop star and Gomez were recently spotted kissing and cuddling while waiting for their flight after a private pre-holiday romantic ski trip in Salt Lake City, Utah. However, the bliss, which was supposed to continue through their New Year's trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, last week didn't last for long as Bieber's reported mean words and alleged cheating with Victoria's secret model Barbara Palvin, proved to be the last straw for Gomez who left him after a huge fight and headed home solo. In need of some serious comedic interruption, Bieber will reportedly host for the first time and, perform on "Saturday Night Live." The program will air on February 9 and sources say that Bieber has given his blessing that nothing, not even the cigarette-could-be-reefer scandal should be off limits for the show to parody. According to EW, Bieber is presumably hosting to promote his upcoming Believe: Acoustic release, out January 29.
Josh Brolin booked for boozing.
The clock had yet to strike midnight to signal in 2013, when Josh Brolin ("No Country for Old Men") was arrested for public intoxication by the Santa Monica Police Department. But what has the actor talking on "Good Morning America" isn't any embarrassment he feels over the incident, but rather his "serious-faced" mug shot, instead of the smiling profile, he reportedly felt should have been released. Brolin, who is married to actress Diane Lane ("Unfaithful") was on the morning program to promote his new movie Gangster Squad – in which he funnily enough, plays a police officer – when he spoke about his "innocent" drunken gaffe and how "sweet" the police were to him during his arrest.
Kim and Kanye's keys to the kastle?
Only the most luxurious for Kimye and their little plus one on the way! Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, who are currently on holiday in Paris, France – according to Us magazine, have reportedly dropped $11 million big ones on a Mediterranean-style Bel-Air mansion. The purchase comes just a week after the couple confirmed that they are expecting their first baby together. The 10,000 square foot property, which currently features an infinity pool, will apparently be gutted and increased by another 4,000 square feet according to TMZ. A source for the network reportedly has revealed that the mansion will be transformed into an "Italian-style villa, complete with a gym, movie theater, full hair and make-up salon, bowling alley, basketball court, indoor and outdoor pool." Wonder if there's room for a swing set in the backyard?
Actress Sandra Bullock ("The Blind Side") has been honored with the "People's Choice Award" for Favorite Humanitarian. This is the first award of its type for the show, which was hosted for the second year by Kaley Cuoco ("The Big Bang Theory"). Bullock humbly delivered her acceptance speech after actress Regina King, introduced a highlight reel showing Bullock's continued relief efforts to help New Orleans' Warren Easton Charter High School. In 2005, the school sustained about $4 million worth of damage from Hurricane Katrina. Bullock later received a standing ovation for her speech which included a nod to the students, teachers and volunteers at the school: "And I'm not at all being modest when I say I don't do anything compared to what they do on a daily basis. I am simply blessed to be able to do what I do because of what you allow me to do, and that is write a check and be a really good cheerleader and that's it." Oprah's Lance Armstrong interview?
According to a release posted on Oprah Winfrey's website, disgraced cyclist and athlete Lance Armstrong has agreed to sit down for an uncensored interview with the media mogul. The interview will take place at Armstrong's home in Austin, Texas and is set to air as a special 90-minute episode for "Oprah's Next Chapter" on Thursday January 17 at 9:00 PM on OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network. Armstrong is expected to discuss the doping allegations and address the accusations regarding allegedly lying about his use of performance-enhancing drugs during his cycling career – accusations that saw him stripped of all seven of his Tour de France titles and slapped with a lifetime ban on competing professionally. This will be Armstrong's first interview since the scandal and since his resignation as chairman of his Livestrong Foundation for cancer awareness and research.
Lindsay Lohan bracelet burglary?
She may be reportedly living it up while on an extended staycation in the U.K. but actress Lindsay Lohan ("Liz & Dick," "Scary Movie 5") just can't escape the drama that has become her life. If it isn't her mother accusing her father of rape, and her father threatening to sue, it's another thievery allegation. Lohan has been down this road before, and this time the charge comes from the late actress Elizabeth Taylor's nurse, who reportedly accused Lohan of stealing an heirloom bracelet that Taylor had given to her. According to a source for Radar Online, Lohan saw, immediately coveted and later, swiped the bracelet after a visit to the nurse's house. Apparently, the nurse and Lohan became good friends during the filming of "Liz & Dick." Lohan reportedly denied stealing the jewellery, which was later returned a week after the nurse allegedly threatened to report her to the police.
And baby makes 7 for Rosie O'Donnell.
Congratulations to comedienne Rosie O'Donnell ("The Rosie Show") and her wife Michelle Rounds. The couple welcomed a baby girl through adoption named Dakota. This is the fifth child for O'Donnell who shares four children with her ex-wife Kelli Carpenter. O'Donnell and Rounds, who were married in a secret ceremony last June, were trying to get pregnant for some time with Rounds seeking help from a fertility doctor last January only to be diagnosed with cancer-like desmoid tumors. O'Donnell soon followed with her own health scare after suffering a heart attack that landed her in intensive care. The new baby comes as enormous blessing for the couple as O'Donnell posted the news on Twitter.
Let's move in together, says John Mayer?
Katy Perry and John Mayer might soon be roomies. According to a source for HollywoodLife.com, the bluesy crooner is seeking a "sanctuary" for himself and his glamorous pop singer girlfriend. After dating a few celebrity leading ladies, including country singer Taylor Swift, actress Jennifer Aniston ("Horrible Bosses"), and Weight Watchers brand ambassador/fashion designer Jessica Simpson, Mayer reportedly is no longer afraid of commitment and has expressed his wish to settle down and maybe settle in with Perry. Perhaps, Perry will go where no woman has gone before, once a location has been confirmed.
Lambert versus Brown, round two?
Country singer Miranda Lambert's recent interview with Redbook magazine reveals that she's still smarting over the misdirected adulation heaped on R&B singer Chris Brown following his assault on then girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. The outspoken Mrs. Blake Shelton who is featured on the magazine's February issue, reportedly discusses why she still stands by her 2012 Twitter rant against Brown where she expressed her disgust over the singer's dual performances at the Grammys last February. Firmly, stating that she says what she thinks, Lambert – who also tweeted her Redbook cover – reportedly goes on to voice her concern about the message being sent to women when actions like Brown's are celebrated.
How dang long did they give Nicki Minaj to do whatever that was? Strange. And Chris Brown twice? I don't get it. He beat on a girl...— Miranda Lambert (@mirandalambert) February 13, 2012
Not cool that we act like that didn't happen. He needs to listen to Gunpowder and lead and be put back in his place. Not at the Grammys.— Miranda Lambert (@mirandalambert) February 13, 2012

Pitt-Jolie secret wedding?
With all the celebrity couple discord, it's not only the paparazzi that is hoping to hear some good news. Rumor has it that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie secretly got married on Christmas Day in an intimate ceremony on the island of Turks and Caicos. Where's the proof? Well, reports are suggesting that Pitt, who was last seen arriving at Los Angeles International Airport for the first time since the rumor surfaced, was cleverly hiding his wedding ring – and more specifically the ring finger on his left hand. Last November, Pitt reportedly told reporters at the New York red carpet premiere of his film "Killing Me Softly" that his wedding to Jolie would be soon, shortly before an In Touch magazine report that the couple had already acquired their rings from jeweler Neil Lane. Pitt and Jolie, who share six children, have been engaged since April 2012.
