    Daytime Mourns Soap Writer James E. Reilly… (Update)

    Soaps.com is sad to report that well-known Daytime soap writer James E. Reilly has passed away over last weekend, in the hospital, during a recovery from cardiac surgery.

    While this brilliant Daytime Emmy Award winner was best known for his talent as creator and writer for the now defunct Passions, James also had a hand in many storylines on such soap as Days of Our Lives, General Hospital, Guiding Light, "Ryan's Hope," "Sunset Beach," and The Young and the Restless. He also spent time as consulting producer for Days of Our Lives and Passions, and appeared as a writer on NBC's "Friends." James was sixty years old… read more about him in our goodbye to Passions.

    It is a very sad day for me hearing the news about james e reilly i loved the show been a fan from the very first show to the last show i even had gotten direct tv to see the last year i will miss your writing and hope you rest in peace much love to the family of james e reilly passions fan forever bye my friend... randy

    I was shocked to just finding out that Jim passed on. He always came up with exciting but bizarre storylines. Which was why I enjoyed watching "Passions". My prayers go out with his family. R.I.P., Soldier.
