Fans of Judith Krantz's best selling series, "Scruples," are in for a treat! ABC has just ordered a pilot, which has been branded as a sexy, new Primetime soap set in the 1970s, which will air in one-hour episodes. Tony Krantz (former CAA agent), Judith's son, will serve as an executive producer on the project, along with actress Natalie Portman ("Thor," "Black Swan"), her EP television debut, and Annette Savitch. Bob Brush and Mel Harris will act as executive producers and writers.
The book "Scruples" follows the lives of three ambitious and creative people, who head down the path of fortune and romance. After the death of her senior millionaire husband, Billy Ikehorn, bored of sex with random hot tennis instructors and dallying with her art tutor, decides to open her own Beverly Hills boutique, she calls 'Scruples'. She hires sassy clothing designer, Valentine O'Neill and Valentine's pal, photographer and playboy, "Spider" Elliot who are unlucky in love. Unknown to her, Valentine's dating a gay man and Spider's model girlfriend only has eyes for herself. The duo wind up finding not just fortune but love...
Back in 1980, Lindsay Wagner ("The Bionic Woman") starred in the miniseries from Krantz’s Flame Ventures in association with Warner Bros.
