ABC Refuses Offers To Buy All My Children And One Life To Live?

    Thursday, June 23 2011

Could the shows have been saved? (ABC)
    The fight continues…

Soap Opera Network is reporting that their sources have confirmed 100% that ABC has received and turned away offers to purchase "All My Children" and "One Life To Live." Apparently the reasoning behind ABC's decision not to sell is a fear that another outlet could make the shows a success, when ABC couldn't, which therefore would create more backlash for the network canceling them in the first place. Since the cancellation announcement "One Life To Live" has soared in the ratings and has surpassed both sister soaps, including "General Hospital."

Their source, a higher up at ABC, allegedly stated that Anne Sweeney and her bosses used Brian Frons as a scapegoat when in fact he had very little to do with the decision to cancel the shows. This same source claims ABC is currently trying to figure out the best way to release Brain Frons of his duties as a way to show fans that all of their rallies didn't go unnoticed and in turn make Sweeney and company look good in the process.

This just shows how greedy and selfish ABC and Disney are. They think so little of their viewers that they refuse to sell AMC and OLTL because they might be successful on another station.

IF ABC (and obviously) doesn't want to continue with OLTL and AMC. Then SELL them so that we the beloved fans of these shoes can continue to enjoy them. Let ABC air another talk show...who cares??? We just want to continue watching and enjoying AMC and OLTL whatever channel they are on. COME ON ABC SELL!!!

That sucks big time! I wish they would sell AMC and OLTL so the fans could still enjoy them. I'm sure others stepped up for As The World Turns, but CBS/P&G were afraid ATWT would succeed elsewhere. Now ATWT is gone. If something isn't done, AMC and OLTL will also be gone.

I think there all playing the blame game. They don't care about the people who watch there programs ,There only worried about the big buck.I hope ABC and Disney go bankrupt and all go out of business. I refuse to buy any thing to do with Disney and I do have 7 grandkids who happen to like Disney toys.Well this granny here is boycotting any thing to do with Disney.I can't understand why there so afraid to sell OLTL AND AMC? What they know they are so greedy they know another station will make money on these 2 soaps? They don't care there cold hearted people. And when they do take AMC and OLTL off I will no longer watch any thing on ABC.Gee I'm glad I have satellite TV I have lots of other programs to watch any way.

Dear ABC, you people need to descend your bubble and realize you are making the BIGGEST mistake in TV history by canceling AMC & OLTL. Perhaps you should "cancel" some of your obviously inept Execs you have up there ;~P !!!

ABC's incredible arrogance regarding the cancellation of One Life to Live in spite of soaring ratings amazes me. They obviously have no loyalty or common sense, given the network's refusal to consider the needs and desires of its viewership. I will watch no replacements since nothing can touch One Life to Live. I wonder how they will justify this decision when the ratings tank, come next year.
