Soap Opera Network is reporting that their sources have confirmed 100% that ABC has received and turned away offers to purchase "All My Children" and "One Life To Live." Apparently the reasoning behind ABC's decision not to sell is a fear that another outlet could make the shows a success, when ABC couldn't, which therefore would create more backlash for the network canceling them in the first place. Since the cancellation announcement "One Life To Live" has soared in the ratings and has surpassed both sister soaps, including "General Hospital."
Their source, a higher up at ABC, allegedly stated that Anne Sweeney and her bosses used Brian Frons as a scapegoat when in fact he had very little to do with the decision to cancel the shows. This same source claims ABC is currently trying to figure out the best way to release Brain Frons of his duties as a way to show fans that all of their rallies didn't go unnoticed and in turn make Sweeney and company look good in the process.
