I haven’t been reading the recaps because I want to see the show without knowing what is going to happen.
I can’t stop crying I guessed that Alan was going to die but I hoped that they wouldn’t do it. He was always one of my favorite characters and even reminded me of my own dad. What will Springfield be without Alan!!?? How sad for Payton to lose her father, that makes me the saddest.
I like my idea of having Alan moving to Paris with a super model better, he deserved to be loved! But this is kind of a poignant and emotional SL. We get to have a funeral for Alan and allegorically speaking for our show as well.

I supported Jonathan all along. Lizzie was a terrible mother in the beginning and Jonathan was afraid of what she would do. When he took Sarah away the last time, Lizze told him to take her to protect her from Alan. I admire Jonathan for what is doing now, with the joint custody, but don't be to hard on him. He is a great dad!

I totally agree with you that Lizzie is not very emotional and I really felt nothing when she got to see Sara last week. I was hoping it would be so emotional but it was just flat. But then again we don’t know what it’s like to really never know our child, they are basically being introduced for the first time.

From your perspective 3puppies, how exactly was she such a bad mother??? I mean did she not feed her, change her... I didn't think Sarah was around long enough for her to even be a mother when Jonathan faked his death and took off. I mean really, I've seen BAD mothers! One case resulted in the death of a child due to neglect!

I've had the tissues out this week! Oh Alan...*sniff* I didn't see that one coming!!

What a sad show today. I never saw this coming. Alan finally found peace w\ himself and his family. I just wonder if Ed knew that Alan was going to die and just let him go enjoy the day w\ his family and friends. They didn't have to kill Alan. I cried like a baby when I saw Alan wasn't moving when Phillip was talking. Then Phillip made me cry harder. Did anyone else think that Alexandra looked a little sad today? I just wonder if she knew he was going to die. I'm going to re-watch it on tonight.

Darn, I didn't see Allan's dieing coming at all. That was a shocker. I can see Lizzie not acting too upset for Sara's sake in case Johnathon did run with her again. I am so ready for Jeffery to come back for Reva.

Wow. Every moment of this show was fantastic. I completely agree with those of you that find Alan's passing symbolic of our beautiful light going out. It actually didn't shock me...I think I knew all along something was up, as he had a scene with each actor, each family member and friend. He said his goodbyes...this must have been one of the hardest shows for the actors. We have been watching for years...they have been working together for years...they must have developed a lot of friendships. I really enjoyed Rob Raines today...he is devilishly handsome and he was smiling more than I've ever seen him smile...he did such a wonderful job. I truely hope that they don't let James be a super brat about his death. Please don't let him blame Phillip...let him grow and learn from this...and, become closer to Phillip. And, dear Alexandra. Yes, she did seem sad...this was played beautifully. She is his close to him, as any wife would be....I think she felt something coming...I hope she will be OK. I really enjoyed this show...and have enjoyed reading all of your comments for the last year or so. I cherish the fact that so many of you have developed friendships...I hope you keep in touch with each other. Peace to all.
