Well, I guess the money that CBS is making today from the advertisers for showing the tennis match that most people don't care about, is more important than the faithful who tune in each day to see their favorite Soap. Wonder if they realize what this is going to do to their ratings when people quite tuning in after GL goes off the air. There are enough sports channels to carry the sports so that if people want to watch it they can. Most programing on CBS no matter what the program is anywhere from 50 to 75% advertising anyway & all I can say to that is THANK GOODNESS FOR THE MUTE BUTTON!!!! I can actually dust all of my house in the time it take for the commericials to run.

Hey sweet, looks like once again CBS is saying that they do not really care what us soap viewers want. But you know what, they do want to be first where prime time shows and newscast are concerned, that is what matters most to them and who better than all us ole soapies that are unhappy about having tennis games shoved down our throats to see to it that they are last in the ratings!! It can and will come back and bite them, teach them to cheat us out of two days of GL. Believe that I read the other day that the evening news with Katie Couric is trying hard to get out of last place, I sure won't be one to help them do that..enjoy next week and we will just have to hope that CBS does not choose to take it off the air any one of those last five days...........that would not be good!!

Guess I have been watching another show. Because if I am not wrong there are several s/l's still open.
    1. Where are all the children?
    2. Where is Myra.{not sure about the spelling)?
    3. What actually happened to Grady?
    4. The couples are reuniting but will they be together?
    5. Will Cassie know what has happened to her family?
    6. Will Ross be declared legally dead? No body....
    7. What becomes of Mel? Rick? Josh/Jeffery? Holly?
    Just to name a few.
There are s/l's from a long time ago that have never been closed. I don't care about them anymore - just the current ones.

What will the poster (that continues to attack my postings) do when GL is over? Hmmmmmm. I really don't care - just a comment.

    Hi: GLandWT, mom6, Gossipqueen75, Vanillahere, Sunflower23, Shorty1943, and all.

If CBS wants to get out of last place for the evening news, they need to dump Katie Couric--never did like her! Of course I don't watch CBS evening news anyway so it doesn't make any difference to me who they have to report the news. Also I agree with 3 puppies---there are a lot of unfinished s/l and we all know that there is not enough time left for them to tie up all the loose ends. I don't post a lot but I have enjoyed reading all the comments that everyone has left. Not only will I miss GL but also all of the comments that everyone has made.

3Puppies, I agree with all of your s/l's which are still unanswered. I have not posted a comment before, but I have been a CBS daytime TV fan of Y&R, B&B(since it began),ATWT, and of course GL since my college days in the mid-70s. I cannot begin to imagine daytime TV without Guiding Light. I hope another network picks it up very soon. As for s/l's for CBS's daytime TV(shows mentioned above)everyone should be aware because they are all beginning to repeat or retell with a somewhat different spin old s/l's. All of CBS's daytime soaps may go within the next year or so. I hope not, but with GL gone, who knows what is next.

When Guiding Light ends, that will also signal the end of my ever tuning in to CBS! I really hope some network that gives a damn about the viewers will take this program over! If it is in a month, a year, or even longer, I will again become a loyal fan of Guiding Light! There are still too many unanswered questions about the characters! I have watched this program since my family first purchased a TV, before that I listened on the radio with my mother and sister. It was a nice, sharing time for us. Now, BSS decides to end the best and longest lasting soap, I hope their entire network goes down the tube!

    3Puppies,
I was asking that poster yesterday about Rick, Matt, Mel. Hawk, I agree there are still lots of loose ends. Dylan, Myndee, they are older ones, but still loose ends. I think Josh is a very big loose end myself....thought that they would have done something for him. Oh well, even tho everyone does not agree, the list of loose ends is a long one, hopefully by next Friday most of them will be tied up in neat little bow..I mostly want the main characters to ride out in a blaze of glory and all to be where they want to be and with whom they want to be...........can't ask much more than that............unless it is you will not be haunted by the poster attacker!!

3 Puppies… I must admit this has been pretty fun, debating with you. Please know it isn’t personal it just for fun about a factious town and characters… I believe our bit of debating has spurred other fans to read the comment board and prompted them to post as well… which is a good thing, in hopes that CBS knew we are out there and wanting GL! It has been fun and that is what it is FUN, and who knows we maybe debating on another comment board again … Good luck and keep the Light Shinning…

I will continue to post until the light goes out. I don't know anything about any other soap - I don't watch any other soap but GL. I enjoy posting about GL but I don't think I will attempt ATWT or any other because I don't have the slightest idea what they are about. So, I will be on until Friday/Saturday of next week.

    12312,
I love posting and debating or disagreeing because that is what this board is about. Everyone should be entitled to their own opinions - right or wrong. I will miss a lot of posters. Hope you find someone new to debate with you.
