Reva tries to help Josh let her go. Jonathan and Lizzie have a sonogram. Reva says goodbye.

Reva convinces Josh to let go

Billy is trying to help Reva go, telling her that he will be okay when she is gone and everyone else will be too. Josh overhears this and flies into a rage, dragging Billy away from her bedside and yelling at him. He exclaims that 'it's not her time! Not even if I have to breathe for her!' Josh begins to argue with Billy and force him out of the room. Reva gets upset and pulls off her electrodes, sending her machines to flatline. Everyone panics and Lillian runs in and fixes things before telling everyone to behave themselves and asking them to leave. As they file out, Reva asks Josh to stay with her. He sits by her side and she tells him again that he has to let her go and stop fighting with Billy. To stop fighting for her is the last thing that Josh wants to do, but she says he has to. She's ready to say goodbye and tells him that she had planned to end it the other night. Josh is horrified. He tells her that she has no right to take her life without telling anyone; without letting anyone say goodbye. He's loved her since he was a boy and thought she loved him. When she says that she does, he tells her that she's going to have to 'prove it by living, even if it's the last thing you do.'

Reva asks Josh to 'remember me', but he chokes back tears and tries to resist going through this. Finally, he succumbs and closes his eyes, thinking back to the first time he caught a glimpse of her: She's in a wedding dress, looking like an angel. Once he has the picture in his mind, she tells him that it's time to say goodbye. He tries to get her some pain medication, but she wants to feel everything. He climbs into the bed with her and puts his arms around her, admitting that he's scared while she imagines her mother reaching out to her. He promises her that he will be strong and look after all of her children, even Jonathan and the baby. She is only whispering now and tells him that he has to let Cassie take care of him so that she can rest in knowing that he's being loved. 'Whatever I am and whatever good I've done, has been because of loving you…I can't imagine a world without you….' He will stay with her 'until….'

Jonathan vows to Alan that 'Spaulding' will just be a name on a mailbox for his little girl. As they get more heated, Lizzie intervenes and Alan claims that he is only there to see Reva. Jonathan accuses him of only being there to worm his way into their family. Lizzie confesses to Alan that, when she was a little girl, she idolized him, but then she grew up and realized what he was really like. Alan insists that he's only trying to help her. Lizzie answers that, if he starts behaving like a real grandfather, maybe he can have a chance someday. They try and leave him to get the sonogram done, but he follows them, suggesting that he take Lizzie in while Jonathan goes to Reva. Jonathan tells him that what his mother needs right now is a picture of the baby. They send Alan away. As they get ready for the sonogram, Lizzie wonders if Jonathan should be with his mother. He insists that he's already said his goodbye; this is where she'd want him. Lizzie says that the baby hasn't been moving much so Jonathan starts chatting to her belly and tells her that, while he doesn't believe in much, but he believes in this baby. The doctor comes in and sets up the sonogram. The baby is in perfect condition; she's just been dreaming.

Buzz is lighting a candle for Reva. Olivia admits that, even though most of the time she hated Reva, she can't imagine a world without her. Buzz spots Ava and tells Olivia that they can't waste time fighting. They pack up some food and bring it to Cedars together: Coop, Ava, Buzz and Olivia. They arrive and give the food to Josh and Cassie. Buzz asks how Reva is holding up and the news isn't good. Olivia and Ava gather around Reva's door and look in at her. Olivia says to Ava, 'let's not fight. One day we'll all be in a room like that.' Ava doesn't understand why Olivia is so upset; she hates Reva after all. Olivia only shakes her head and tells her that she wouldn't understand. As things worsen for Reva, they go off to find Jonathan and bring him back. They stop outside the sonogram room and watch him giddily speaking to the baby. They can't bring themselves to interrupt.

Buzz returns to Company and finds a depressed Alan sitting alone. He tells him that he looks like 'a buzzard in a black suit waiting for something to die so that he can fly down and eat it.' Alan's insulted and reminds Buzz that he used to be in love with Reva and that they have a long history together. Buzz says that the only thing that he's upset about is that Lizzie's daughter is going to be alive without him in her life.

Cassie has returned to Reva's side. Reva is worried that Josh still thinks that he can fix her. She tells Cassie to look after him. She goes to Josh and he confesses that he doesn't believe that Reva is coming back this time. Billy told her all about Reva's plans to kill herself. She was angry with him, but ended up embracing him and thanking him for being there for her. Josh says that he's said his goodbye. Lillian calls them all back to her side. Reva says that she can 'feel the light and feels blessed.' Billy motions to Josh to finally tell her that 'it's alright; he'll be okay without her.' He finally does this and she flatlines a moment later. Buzz's candle goes out and tears stream down Billy's cheeks.

I have to say that I have never been so disappointed in any of the CBS soap operas that I watch as I was today with Reva dying. It was a major disappointment and just wrong. I have watched guiding light for over 20 years, I cant believe anyone would even consider getting rid of 1 of the two actors that have held this show together for so many years. One of the main reasons I always tuned in was the Reva and Josh story. Now what???? I certainly am not looking forward to seeing Cassie and Josh have a life together. NO THANKS

Is there a problem that the viewers should know about with Riva's character? Please let us know. If it's more money she wants, they should pay her. She is worth every penny.Do not kill Riva, kill the writer. If There is no Riva and Josh you are going to loose over half of your viewers I have been watching GL since 1976 and only because of RIVA.

I agree with the previous comments. If Reva dies, so will the show.

I remember reading in the Novemeber sweeps on the message board that Josh hears her breathing even after she has flatlined. I still have the faith that she will pull through this thing. If not, I'm not watching anymore. She and Josh were the only reason I watched this show.

Has anybody out there heard that Reva was leaving the show??? I am still in shock from what I saw today. I just read that Kim Zimmer extended her contract in September. I was thinking that maybe they would have her come back when Mondays show airs. You know how Fridays are always the cliffhangers, but Im so convinced that she is gone! Does anybody else have an opinion on this?? If they bring Reva back as a ghost, that is it for me. I had all I could do to sit and watch the Marvel episodes. What is happenning with this show??

i had no idea that reva was leaving the show. that's why i don't believe she's really dead and how come no children were there? the whole damn town should have been there . something is up . we usually know when someone is leaving . and like luke and laura there is always josh and reva or i'm gone like i did when the clone came.

I still can't believe Reva will be gone..Cassie and Josh just don't blend! I know the actors can't stay 4-ever, but, with rumors of Gus, Jonathan and Tammy leaving..what does the show have? I have been a Fan of GL since the 70's, talent is hard to find,,but, the story line without Reva now has to be SUPERB!!
