    Wedding Day.

    Friday, July 10 2009
Everything seems to be going wrong on Bill and Lizzie's wedding day.

When Dinah wakes up, she notices Shayne is not in bed.

Shayne sits in his car watching Mallet and Marina's house. Dinah soon arrives and sits with him. She has some breakfast for him. They kiss and she wishes they had a station wagon if they are going to be doing surveillance.

Mallet is feeding his son and thinking about the evidence in the case. Marina comes in and he asks her about the broken stroller. "Maybe it fell outside?" she suggests.

Mallet brings the stroller to the station and has it put into evidence. He has to have it tested to see if the metal in it matches the murder weapon. "I think I found myself a murder suspect... God help me," he says.

Mallet runs into Dinah at the minimart. She can see he has a headache and begins massaging his hand. After his headache goes away, he thanks her and leaves.

Roxie licks Lizzie and wakes her up. She's giddy about her wedding day. She calls Bill, interrupting him as he is rehearsing his wedding vows with his dog. They kid around and talk about how much they miss each other. She offers to have breakfast with him. Moments later, he's in her room for breakfast. He thinks he should actually try his tux on before they leave.

When Bill and Lizzie go outside, he tries calling Josh. "I forgot to tell you, I'm down in Florida," Josh explains. Bill says it's no problem and they can take care of everything. The couple splits up tasks and rushes off.

Lizzie goes to the florist's to pick up her order. "Why are you giving me onions?" she asks as he hands her a box. He says that's what she ordered. She breathes deeply to stay calm. He offers her the single thin bouquet he has left.

Bill goes to see the musicians. They all have food poisoning. He leaves and gets their wedding cake and food. It spills out of the van just as Lizzie arrives. They try pulling the cake out of the pebbles but Bill doesn't think anyone will eat it. "I just wanted to make something nice for everyone!" she cries. He tries telling her that it will all work out. She begins stuttering and attempts to convince herself that everything is okay.

They go to the minimart and start buying Twinkies, chips and dip. "That's a lot of Pringles," he says as they pile them on the counter. She says they can put bows on them and they'll pile the Twinkies together and cover them in whip cream.

At the church, they make their cake of Twinkies, eat whip cream and then get dressed. He tells her how beautiful she is and then they go out to see how many people have come. The chapel is empty. He looks for excuses but she's sure something has gone wrong. When he looks in the parking lot, it's empty. She picks up their invitation and notices that it has tomorrow's date. He tries to tell her that it will be all good but she's in tears. "We can still do this," he says. She wanted their friends and family there. Dinah watches them in the distance before slipping away. Lizzie continues to freak but Bill calms her and tells her it will all be good. They return to the kitchen and start eating the 'cake'. He promises that they will get married some day. Dinah calls and says she needs him right now in Miller's field. After she hangs up, Bill and Lizzie run off.

Marina is at Company with Henry and Frank. She tells her father that he can move back home if he is missing Henry. She wants him to be surrounded by love. Frank tells her that she's a good mother. "I'd do anything for him," she says.

Remy runs into Shayne and they catch up on the Edmund situation.

Mallet returns to the station and waits for news about the stroller. Remy comes in and confesses that he's known about Henry all along. He offers his help protecting the child if he needs it.

Bill and Lizzie run off to the field looking for Dinah. She runs out from behind a tree and pretends to be surprised that they are in their wedding clothes. They list everything that went wrong today. Dinah calls everyone out from the bushes. They bring plants and chairs. Dinah admits that she saw them at the church and then she and Mindy threw this together. "I think it's perfect," Lizzie says. Bill gets down on a knee and proposes again.

    Next on Guiding Light:

The authorities tell Reva that have they found something.

Dinah meets with a gun dealer.

Alan and James get ready for a fishing trip.

Phillip still refuses to come clean with his family.

Today's episode started out boring but ended on a good note to me. Dinah came through for Bill. Both he and Lizzie were surprised. The wedding will take place after all.

What warp speed! How the many wonderful/not so wonderful things happen so fast in soap-land, I'll never know. Dinah made a few calls and "Voila" let's have a wedding! It just looked so right. You go Dinah.

Hi 3Puppies, Julien, Mom6, Gossipqueen75, Vanillahere, Sunflower23, and all. Have a great weekend.

I agree, the show started out dull but did turn out to be kind of cute. I just loved the "twinkie cake" (actually I love twinkies). I didn't quite understand the chips but it was fun anyway. Dinah is a miracle worker. She fixed Mallet's headache and got the whole family together for the wedding in a matter of minutes. Wish I had her power.

    Have a great weekend all.

Pringles and Twinkies were straight up product placement. When was the last time there was a "normal" wedding on GL? It's been years of spontaneous and surprise weddings. (I'm thinking a Waffle House Wedding is next) Nat and Frank almost had a normal one except we all knew they'd never make it through. The glory days of grand weddings and parties at the country club are so long gone Was Matt and Vanessa the last decent wedding? I know I've missed some while traveling. Sigh...gone are the days of Mindy and Kurt's fairy tale wedding.

I’m with you. Lord knows I could never afford my own fancy wedding so it would be nice to see one on the show. They always used to do such beautiful weddings. Like all of Reva’s weddings except to Jeffery were amazing. I guess their budget is so tight they couldn’t even afford a nice dress for Lizzie. I can’t see it well from looking at the picture but it looks cheep, and ugly.
A Twinkie cake? Cute, I would probably eat the whole thing. I think it would dry out too.
    That was sweet of Dinah.
Hi 3pupps, GLandWT, sunflower and Julien

I think you would have to fight me for the twinkies. They are my favorite. Have a nice weekend.

If you go to you can see more pictures of Twinkie wedding cakes. I guess people actually make them.

if you want to get married again, I will bring the twinkie cake. I saw a twinkie cake some time ago, it was adorable. It wasn't a wedding cake, it was a birthday cake.

Thanks 3 pupps it’s a cute idea and I’m surprised I have never heard of them since I make wedding cakes for a living. I own my own business called The Cakrey. I don’t know if I’ll ever get married again but if I do I may consider a Twiinkie cake as I am SOOOO sick of regular cake! I eat it every day. I can’t just let all those scraps go to waste. LOL

I felt so sorry for Lizzy when everything started falling apart. They had worked so hard to do everything. But it all ended good, thank to Dinah and Mindy.
