Outside Company, Maria worries to her father about Henry's hospital bills.
Inside, Remy is rehearsing how he is going to tell Christina that he was fired. She arrives and explains that she got her daycare license and has applied for a small business loan. Remy's impressed. She talks about her business plan. Marina listens and suggests that they use her house as a location. They talk about becoming partners. "I'm going to be living in a daycare center?" Buzz groans in dread. Remy offers to lend them some cash. Christina tells him that knowing he believes in her is what keeps her going. As he walks out, Buzz grabs him and asks him what he's doing. He has no idea. As Remy runs off, Buzz asks Frank what's wrong. Frank insists he's fine, even if he hasn't shaved for a few days.
Natalia goes to the minimart for some stuff. She runs into Buzz and apologizes for what happened. She wishes they could still be friends. "Frank deserves better," he says, encouraging her to give his son another chance. She can't. He thought he knew her but she followed her heart to the altar and then ran away. She doesn't want to hurt anyone and doesn't want to pretend anymore. He tells her that when she committed to Frank, she committed to the whole family. "Next time you should think of that before you jump in," he says.
Back at Company, Christina is shocked to have her grandmother Loretta walk in. After they hug, Buzz arrives. He and Loretta begin arguing about the sauce recipe she claims he stole. Loretta sits down with her granddaughter. As they look at her plans, Loretta tells her that she is just planning to become a babysitter.
Doris runs into Frank at Towers. He's sarcastic. She tells him to clean up and apologizes for what happened. She offers to help out. He asks her to make Mallet a detective again and put a word in for Rafe. She can't believe that he is trying to help Nat after what she did to him. "Just make it happen," he says.
Across the room, Mel is telling her mother about her new boyfriend. Clayton is distracted by his phone. Felecia talks about her plans to re-decorate the house. Mel gets called off to the hospital.
Remy runs into his sister outside. He complains that his bank account is on life support. He wants to help Christina. She suggests he talk to their father. He refuses. Mel tells him to get over himself and directs him over to Towers to see Clayton.
Remy goes inside to see his father. After Felicia leaves, he asks for a loan to help start Christina's daycare. "I don't know if I can help you," Clayton admits. Remy's embarrassed and wants to leave. Clayton tells him to stay and explains that he wants to give him the money but he can't get to it. He hasn't been able to access his accounts since he started investing in a new financial group.
Doris goes looking for Olivia at Nat's. "Olivia doesn't live here anymore," Nat informs her. Doris thinks she seems rattled. Nat explains that she and Olivia had a little trip. "Now you're back and reality is different," Doris says. "Coming out is hard," she explains. "I don't know what you think I am," Nat objects. "What do you think you are?" Doris snaps at her before telling her that, even after she dumped him, Frank got her to pull some strings to help Rafe out. After she leaves, Natalia calls Olivia and tells her how hard it is to be there without her.
James runs into Alan at the mansion. After he veers away, Alan tells Phillip that James has no respect for his elders. Philip isn't surprised; he's just like he was. "Now you'll get to see what it's like to be me," Alan says. Phillip hopes he doesn't make the same mistakes. They argue about what's best for James. Alan thinks he's just languishing and Lizzie's engaged to a 'loser' Lewis. "Take charge of your children before they fall further into the abyss," Alan advises.
Upstairs, Lizzie is going over her wedding plans with Bill. She wants a "Gone With the Wind" theme. Phillip interrupts looking for James. She asks him to look at her bridal magazines. He thinks they could do Civil War re-enactments at the wedding. Lizzie and Bill laugh. Phillip loves to see her happy. After he leaves, she admits to Bill that she's still not sure how to feel about her dad but she's glad that he has James to focus on. "Not the easiest guy to like," Bill comments about him, sure that her brother has a problem with him.
James is on the lawn taking care of business calls. The calls keep coming in. He pretends to be a fund manager and deals with some disgruntled callers. When he turns around, he finds his father standing there. "That sounded like a business call," Phillip says. James claims it was just his headmaster. Lizzie approaches and tells her brother that Bill wants to talk to him about an idea they are developing. James says he has no time. She pulls him in.
Inside, Lizzie and Bill try to convince James to join their think tank of college students. He claims he doesn't know anything about business. Lizzie gives him her pitch but he's not interested in joining the 'Spaulding army'. Alan orders him to apologize. James walks off. Alan tells Phillip to set limits for his son. Phillip refuses until he knows him better. "That boy has problems and you better find out what they are before it's too late," Alan warns.
Bill looks at the cake catalog. Lizzie doesn't understand why James doesn't want to be involved with them. He tells her that she is not her brother's keeper. He's still sure that James has a problem with him. They make out and then run upstairs.
Phillip follows his son outside and interrupts him while he's on the phone. James tells him that he doesn't want to be Lizzie's lapdog. Phillip has the feeling that something is going on with him and asks him to open up. "What if I told you that you could get in on the ground floor of an amazing investment opportunity?" James asks. Phillip points out that you need money for that. James admits that he is running a ponze scheme through an alias. Phillip is outraged. James confesses that he's been working under Bill's name.
