    Doing Things Backwards.

    Thursday, April 09 2009
Remy and Christina get a divorce, James returns to town and Phillip celebrates his release.

Phillip tells his family that the governor pardoned him, much to his amazement. He thanks them for what they did. They thought they had actually made things worse. Alan forces a grin while Phillip hugs Lizzie and Beth. Lizzie and Bill leave. Beth tells Phillip that they should go out for dinner to celebrate. When she leaves to make calls, Alan tells his son that Beth doesn't know what will make her happy. "You and I have a lot to figure out. Let's try to keep the collateral damage to a minimum," Phillip suggests. Beth returns to say that everything has been arranged. Alan pointedly offers to call Olivia. Phillip says that he and Olivia will work things out for their daughter's sake. Alan brings up the controversy Olivia was in but Phillip wants to avoid it.

Daisy realizes that she forgot her phone back in the dorm room. She sneaks back in. "I had a feeling you'd come back. Girls usually do," James says with a smile as he greets her wearing no more than a towel. She turns while he pulls on his pants. He doesn't know why she keeps coming back to remember some guy who messed her up. She wonders if she ever knew who he really was. As they bicker, Amy comes in and assumes that Daisy is the maid. Daisy introduces herself as his girlfriend. "I thought I was your girlfriend," Amy says. Daisy says that he is ashamed of her. They make up stories and Daisy complains about how awfully he treats her. Amy flounces off, declaring that she needs to see other people. James thanks her. "I've been trying to think up a way to dump her for months! That was awesome!" he says. He kisses her. She slaps him and runs out. He chases her down. She says he's rich and egotistical and not her type. He gets a message from his mother asking him to a family celebration. He asks her to come with him. Daisy turns him down when he invites her to Towers. "See me at the restaurant. Wear something nicer!" he shouts at her as she walks away.

Remy is dejected and angry. He offers to sign the divorce papers but Christina tells him to wait. He lists all of the complaints she's made against him. Everyone else leaves him, so she can too. She doesn't want to divorce him on his birthday. He still wants to end things and offers to get a witness and get it over with. "We're done here," he says. She walks out.

Lizzie and Bill go outside. She admits that she is surprised by how happy she is to have her dad home. He tells her to stop fighting it. She's used to holding her breath and waiting for catastrophe. He promises that he will be there for her and suggests that the family dinner can be fun; they can sit together and whisper about everyone. When they go inside, Beth and Phillip are dressed and ready to go.

Lizzie goes upstairs and gets dressed. She calls Hilda to help her with the zipper but she's not around so Bill comes. He's not sure he can get close to her and control himself. She suggests they accelerate things. He offers to get Hilda. "Don't bother," she says, zipping up by herself.

Christina sits by the nurse's station at Cedars and cries. Lillian asks her what's wrong. She's messed everything up and just sent Remy divorce papers. She's lost her dreams. Lillian tells her that love is the only dream that counts.

Remy paces while his sister looks over the divorce papers. He admits that he is in love with Christina. He does everything backwards. "I don't need to know that you are in love with Christina. She does," Mel advises.

Remy and Christina meet Mel at the courthouse. She tells them that once the papers are signed, it's over and they can't take it back. Remy blames himself for blowing everything for her and refuses to continue lying. Mel suggests that they don't rush. Remy signs the papers. "I don't want to lie anymore," he says. Christina doesn't either so she signs. "That's it," Mel explains.

Remy walks Christina home. She can't believe they made it as long as they did. They laugh as they remember waking up married. Of all the screw-ups in his life, this was the most fun. They wish each other good luck and kiss. The goodbye kiss turns into more. They slip into her room and begin tearing off their clothes. After sex, they joke about what to call themselves now. She says they may be the dream she never knew she wanted until she got it.

The Spaudlings arrive at Towers, followed by Rick. Alan thought this was a family celebration. Beth says Rick is practicality part of the family. "For you Beth, every man at this table is practically part of the family," Alan quips. Lillian arrives and teases Alan for being grumpy. He drinks. Lillian and Alex discuss Buzz. Alex tells her how much Buzz misses her.

Phillip meets with his daughter outside to explain how he got out of jail. She makes it clear that he still terrifies her; he just killed someone after all. He claims he did that for her safety. She reminds him that he kidnapped her for the same reason and she doesn't see the difference.

Bill finds Alan getting drunk at the bar and taunts him. Alan wanders to the washrooms and begins confronting Beth about cheating on him and making him a laughing stock. "I didn't have to try very hard," she says. He grabs her arm and warns her not to push him. Suddenly, James appears. Beth leaps into his arms and he tells his grandfather not to treat his mother this way.

Daisy walks back into the school and tells a guy in a hood that she is willing to have fun with him. It turns out not to be James. She's embarrassed.

Good to see Alex back. I hope Remy and Christina stay together. Edmund is getting ready to start some trouble everyone had better look out. I just wonder if they are going to find out that Marina and Mallet's baby is Lara and Shane's baby. And will Edmund stick around to be part of his life.

someone commented on the db about Christina being from the wrong side of the tracks how can she have such nice digs. Well, first of all, she has a good job so I'm sure she can afford to buy things for her self. Second of all, a ROOM can be decorated nicely pretty cheaply and third, just cause she is from the wrong side doesn't mean she has no style.

Anyway, I am soooo glad James told Alan off! That look on his face, WOW! Alan is really going to dig him self a shallow grave. Hopefully not to shallow though. I don't want to see him get out of it!

    Who is Zack?

I am so glad to see Phillip free and I hope he puts Alan in his place. I just hope that Lizzie gets over her past with him and they can work on being father and daughter again.

Wow my how time flies in Soap Opera land wasn't it just last year James was like 10?? How weird. But I am glad they found a good looking kid to play him.

Christina and Remy either get on with it or get over it.

If James is 18, Daisy is 18 soon to be 19, why is it that she doesn't recognize James? James was just at the fourth of July Picnic last year (age 10 as Gossipqueen75 stated). GL made a big boo boo on this one. Furthermore, all of the trouble that Daisy got herself in since coming to Springfield (at age 15), surely James would know who she is. She turned sixteen after sleeping with Grady and Tammy was killed.

I like the somewhat "comedy" between Phillip and Alan. I am glad Alan's goose got cooked. Good to see Alexandra. Hope James puts dear ole granddad in his place. The nerve of him grabbing Beth...

I believe Mel will hold off from submitting the divorce papers.

Show was pretty good today. I think we might have found the first Spaulding to give Alan a hard time. "James". Is anyone else getting tired of Lizzie and Bill? Sorry people but I am tired of their silly game of date number this that and the other. How come she doesn't talk about Sarah anymore? Guess she forgot she has a daughter. Mother Beth is the same. How fast she forgot Coop. Now Daisy and James - not a good match. Neither one knows the other. Stupid. What a fast dinner at the Beacon. Was Lizzie and Bill even there for the dinner? Now, the real pain, Remy and Christina. Again, I must say, get it going or end it. This roll in the hay (does it mean anything). Oh, now I remember, in S/F you get divorced and then you make out.
So good to see Alex. Love that woman.

This is what drives me nuts about GL. Daisy was born before Frank met Elani, and now Marina is older than Daisy and James is her age!! I know soaps age kids rapidly, but in Daisy's case, she regressed to teenage. I'm hoping cable picks GL up, and hopefully, the writers will have a better understanding of characters.

    GLfan85,

Zach (I misspelled it "Zack") is Phillip and Harley's son. Jude is Harley and Rick Bauer's son. As far as I know, Phillip is the father of 4:
Lizzie and James by Beth: Alan Cooper "ZACH" by Harley; and Emma by Olivia.

I agree the s/l with Bill & Lizzie is getting real old & dumb! Love seeing Alan get what's coming to him. Wonder what Alan is going to do tho? At least this show is getting some life & better s/l now but a little to late. ugh! I think that ATWT's is getting a lame as this show was. Maybe they need to take a lesson from GL or they will get the axe next! Hate the show is getting good & ending in Oct. Hope another net work will pick it up and get new writers:-) If not they better not leave us hanging on now story lines:-(

Mitsie, Yes you are so right marina should be younger than Daisy, and James should not even be close to be the same age as Daisy. I remember when Daisy came back to Harley, cause her adopted mother had died, she was 14, and Beth hadnt even become pregnant with James.Later then Beth Hooked up with Daisy step dad, had a thing with Phillip in a plane crash, and became pregnant with James, so I thought. What about Leah and Emma they should be around the same age, and yet Emma is still a child and Leah Baur is a Senior in HS. 3 Puppies Yeap Im sick of the dumb Bill and Lizzie s/l. I hope Phillip is around till the end of the soap. Would love to see Jon and Sarah back. Maybe they will do the samething ER did in the final weeks brought back alot of the previous characters.

Hi 3 puppies, GlandWT, Vanillahere, mom 0f 6, and everyone else...
