    It's Different This Time.

    Wednesday, February 18 2009
Buzz wants revenge, Beth leaves Alan, Lizzie reaches out to Cyrus for help and Olivia wants Phillip kept in jail.

Buzz kneels by his son's hospital bed and tells him how much he loves him. Lillian comes in to help him up as the family watches through the window.

As Olivia walks out to her car, she finds a doll on the porch. She drives over to the station. After staring off, she walks in. Mallet hands her some water and she talks about Phillip. Overcome, she can't do this right now. After she walks out, Phillip calls to Mallet to ask for an update about Coop. At that moment, Marina calls to say that he's gone.

At the mansion, Alan tells Lizzie that Phillip is back. She already knows; she's the one who had him arrested. Alan's not angry about that, he's just glad she's safe. He complains about how confused everyone is. Lillian calls and tells her that Coop is dead. She drops the phone. "I'm so, so sorry," Alan offers. He tells her that Beth will need them but lays the blame for this situation on her. The family may be in pieces right now, but at least all of the pieces are here and they can figure out what to do. He warns her not to go to Cedars to see the Coopers. She walks off.

Beth arrives at Cedars. Lillian approaches her and shakes her head. Beth collapses in a corner and begins to shake as her mother tells her what happened. She rushes to Coop's bedside and begs him to come back to her. As she weeps, her mother puts her arms around her. "I have to do this on my own," Beth sobs. After Lillian backs out, Beth tells Coop how sorry she is.

In the corridor, Buzz shudders as he realizes that he will never speak to his son again. Frank holds him for a moment. As the family paces, Frank announces that they can get through this together. "It's different this time," Buzz says.

Daisy goes to Mallet and Marina's. She has no idea what to say to her grandfather. Mallet thinks Buzz just expects them to be there for him.

Beth goes to the mansion. Alan tells her that what's happened is terrible and he understands what she's going through. "The only man who understood anything about me is dead," she says. He suggests that it's not wise to make decisions based on feelings and thinks they should wait to reschedule the wedding. Disgusted, she refuses. He reminds her that she always comes back to him. Beth thinks she needs to honor Coop and get someone better than Alan. She shoves Alan and tells him that she only stuck around because she was afraid of him. "Death doesn't wash away one's sins," Alan says as he trashes Coop for the affair. "You better hope that it does," she warns. Alan wonders what she and Coop had. "Something real," she says. He thinks this is 'sanctimonious crap' and suggests that she wasn't living in Coop's fairytale, just trying to finish the one she had with Phillip. "It was a deranged game," he sneers. She slaps him and walks out.

Buzz sits at Company looking at Coop's picture on the back of his book. Frank and Lillian arrive. He tells them that he walked out to the accident site and watched the sun come up. As Lillian makes coffee, Frank offers to call Rocky and Lucy. Buzz wants to do it. Marina, Mallet and Daisy arrive. Daisy comforts her grandfather while Mallet and Marina sit in a booth. She worries about how something like this could happen to a child of theirs. He suggests now might be a good time to share their news with the family and give them some hope. She can't think of a worse time.

Buzz asks Frank when Phillip will be getting out. Frank doubts he will be out at all. Buzz takes his son aside to tell him that he needs Phillip out so that he can get justice. Buzz is sure that Phillip is the only person who can take Alan down. Frank tells him he needs to let this go. Buzz is sick of keeping the peace in town. "The devil's been sitting up there on the hill in his house and laughing at us," he says, pushing past his son.

Lizzie sits at Spaulding and reads the paper when Cyrus arrives. He asks her how the Coopers are doing; he wanted to call Harley but it didn't seem right. She's thought of calling Bill, she admits and begins beating up on herself for it. He tells her to stop. She orders him to keep her away from Bill no matter what. "You can count on me," he says. After Cyrus walks off, Lillian arrives. She advises Lizzie not to visit the Coopers today. Lizzie says she really loved Coop and they always treated her like family. "But you're not," Lillian points out. Lizzie doesn't think this is fair. Lillian promises to call her when the timing is right. After she leaves, Lizzie calls for Cyrus. He arrives and she apologizes for having him on 'Bill patrol'. She needs him to step up and be her 'number one person'. "I'm in," he says.

At home, Mallet takes out the family album so Marina can look at her old memories. "I'm looking at life," he says as he leafs through the pages. What happened to Coop was horrible, but he's sure they can get through it. "Life is worth it," he tells her, reminding her that there are wonderful moments in life too. He doesn't want her to miss out on making new memories with a child. If they have a boy, she wants to name him Henry.

At the courthouse, Olivia tracks down the judge who will be presiding over Phillip's case. She wants to see that Phillip is kept in jail, whatever the cost. "I hope that wasn't a bribe or you could be looking at a trial of your own," the judge says.

Beth goes to the jail to thank Phillip for pulling Coop out of the crash. She's told Alan that she is moving out. She doesn't know what she will do now... He wishes he could do more to help.

Buzz sits in his car and stares at a photo of Coop before driving off. He arrives at the mansion and watches as Alan calls the station and orders the cops to let him see Phillip. "No father should be kept from seeing his son," Alan grumbles.

Gosh, another day of sobbing. This has been one dynamite show this week. Sure hope the writers can continue.
One quick question, did anyone notice when Beth was leaving the mansion the amount of luggage she had? With the vast amount of clothes she wears, where were they? The amount of luggage she walked out with just didn't make it.
Tomorrow should be another great day. I don't like M&M but today was the first time Marina made sense. It was not the time to talk to Buzz about a baby. Mallet missed the boat on that one. Way too soon for Buzz.

I hope Buzz gets a hold on his self and doesn't do something stupid. It was good to see Beth put Alan in his place, now if she just sticks to it. I hope Phillip gets out of jail soon. Maybe everyone will see he has changed. Maybe Lizzie can rely on him instead of Alan. He and Bill can wok together to solve the kidnapping of Lizzie and get it over with.

Phillip is back and just in jail. I want him out and about. Hopefully that happens soon, and they don't make this jail a long drawn out thing. I want to see Phillip interact with everyone. I hope Bill can talk some sense into him.

I once again felt so bad for Buzz. I even felt sorry for Beth. I just hope that Buzz can pull out of this before he gets hurt by Alan. I love Buzz.

Will Harley be back or is she gone for good???

Today's show was a heartbreaker, and every single one of the characters did such a good job!! It was so real, and so deeply and profoundly sad.It was just like a real tragedy, in a real family. I felt the grief.

Buzz was outstanding & so was Beth. I want to see Alan go down along with Cyrus & dirty Grady!! More of Phillip or rather lots of Phillip!! Must we always have all these outside scenes? Amazing how they all walk everywhere & bump into one another everywhere. We need Alexandra back in the action also. I hope that Phillip is staying on the show. Has he signed a contract?? Nice work GL for a change. TY!!
