Vanessa is coming back to Springfield. Reva and Billy get a new house. Jonathan makes a devastating announcement. Olivia goes looking for Ava.
Dinah is surprised to find Vanessa in the hallway outside her room. Vanessa says that she is just looking for Olivia, but uses the opportunity to break some news to Dinah: She, Matt and Maureen will all be moving back to Springfield. 'The hell you will!' exclaims Dinah before going on one of her tirades. She believes that Vanessa is just coming back to spy on her because she thinks that she is a mental case. This is not something Dinah wants in her life. They rake over the past and how Dinah was given up for adoption etc..While they argue, Olivia is behind her door eavesdropping and reflecting on her own relationship, or lack there with her daughters. Vanessa finally gets tired of arguing and leaves as Dinah yells out: 'Mothers! Does anyone get along with them?' Olivia comes out of her room after this and starts to ask Dinah all sorts of personal questions, mostly about how being adopted made her feel and if she really hates her mother. All of these questions make Dinah very suspicious, but before she can find out why Olivia is really so interested, Vanessa returns. She and Dinah go out to the hallway where Dinah apologizes to her and they begin to joke and hug. Olivia continues to listen to this exchange behind her door and smiles while looking at a baby picture of Ava before hurrying out of the room.
Coop manages to catch up with Ava whose been trying to avoid him. When he gets a hold of her, he spots bruises on her arms and asks her what's been going on. She doesn't want to tell him, but he already knows it has something to do with Olivia. With more questioning, Ava explains that it wasn't Olivia that attacked her this time, it was someone she hired. Coop has heard enough and calls Frank, but when he comes, Ava is not forthcoming and she makes up a fake story before he hurries off on business. Coop is still baffled about why Ava is giving Olivia a lot more than a second chance after everything she's done. Yet, Ava is still not ready to go to the police. She insists that she has Olivia in her pocket and knows everything she needs to know about her in order to control the situation. This doesn't explain anything to Coop. He wants to know what Olivia is to her. Ava says explicitly that, after what Olivia has done, she could never be anything to her. Coop leaves her alone and, as she pours herself a cup of coffee, Olivia finds her and tells her that they need to talk.
Josh takes Cassie home to Cross Creek and goes off to get some wine. She wanders into the living room and finds 'Josh loves Reva forever' etched into the face of the mantle. He returns and finds her staring at it, then apologizes for the fact that there are mementos of Reva all over the house. Cassie says that she doesn't care though, she expected that; she just wants them to make memories of their own now. They begin to kiss, but are interrupted by a knock at the door. It is a man from the warehouse. He was cleaning it out when he discovered a life-sized cut-out of Reva. He hands it to Josh who, somewhat dazed by it, puts it in the living room. They decide to turn it to face the wall and begin laughing.
Reva is cleaning up the wine she spilled while Alan keeps on at her to stop before finally grabbing her arm. Once he does this, Billy appears, grabbing Alan's arm and telling him to stop. He and Alan trade threats, Billy reminding Alan that he doesn't fight the way his brother does and Alan shooting back: 'Is that how you stole his wife?' Reva asks Billy if she can talk to him alone and they move out to the balcony. She tells him that she won't be able to make it through the dinner and needs his help getting her out of there. Billy takes her back into the room, she leans against him, playing up her inebriation while he tells Alan off before getting her out of the restaurant. They walk around the street and happen to run into Josh and Cassie. After the usual awkward moment, Josh says that he has an idea: He wants Reva and Billy to have Cross Creek as a 'wedding present.' They're not sure what to say, but he insists. Cassie is shocked that he's going this far to move on, but Josh says that he only wants Reva to be a memory.
Tammy is trying to tell Jonathan that she needs to get away from him. It's too hard to see him with Lizzie all the time and she feels like she is sneaking around with a married man. She needs time to get away; it hurts too much. Jonathan confesses that he never wanted the baby and reminds her that it was her and Reva who pushed him to be with Lizzie and she invited her to live with them before. He also admits that, now, he couldn't leave the baby. Tammy just wants him to understand the ways things have to be, to which he replies that he understands, 'I understand that you got this idea from Remy.' He knows that Remy wants to be a lot more than a good friend to her. Tammy can only say that, when she is with Remy and his family, she feels like a normal person, she feels like she's on vacation. Jonathan begins to cry and confesses that he doesn't know what he can do without her. It's too much for Tammy; she runs away from him into Remy's waiting arms.
Jonathan follows behind, returning to the table, concerned that Reva is gone. Alan is convinced that Jonathan was just gone for the past twenty minutes because he was stoned. He begins to berate him, but Jonathan ignores him and stares at Tammy. She still can't deal with this and tries to excuse herself before Remy stops her. Jonathan is about to jump out of his skin as he strides across the room, only to be intercepted by Beth who begins to tell him off for the way he is ignoring Lizzie. 'She deserves more respect' and someone 'better than him.' He agrees, but this doesn't stop them from bitterly arguing,. All the while, Rick looks on with worry in his eyes before finally approaching them. Jonathan tells him that it's none of his business, but Rick insists that it is, if it concerns two of his 'dearest friends.' 'Hear that Beth? You've been downgraded from lover to friend,' Jonathan points out. Rick and Beth usher Jonathan onto the balcony to 'chill out' as Tammy follows close behind. They only succeed in making him angrier and, once he catches sight of Tammy, he begins shouting that, if she wants to see what 'perfect, normal people' are like, he'll show her. He pushes past everyone to the center of the dining room to make an announcement. He is going to educate Tammy on how families really work; how the hypocrites and liars who put themselves above him really are; how regular respectable people behave. He takes out the picture of Beth and Rick he was using to blackmail them and shows it to everyone in the room while telling them about the affair that's been going on for months. Tammy can't believe her eyes while Alan's fills with rage and Remy comforts a devastated Mel.
