Reva and Jonathan have dinner with Alan and Beth. Cassie and Josh make a business arrangement. Rick tries to break things off with Beth. Things look up for Remy.
A rough looking Reva spots Josh on his cell phone with Cassie. She is relieved that he and Cassie obviously seem happy. Josh even announces to his construction crew that Cassie is his 'girl.' Cassie teases Josh for being jealous when the construction workers flirt with her. He tells her that he's just being protective and she kisses him passionately in public, though he's a bit embarrassed by this. They go up to the office and he gives her a key to the office next to his. He tells her that he wants her to stay on with the company and provide her with all sorts of extra perks. They start to make-out when Wanda interrupts them, noticeably disgusted and trying to fob Cassie off. Cassie confronts her immediately and insists that she didn't steal Josh from Reva, but Wanda doesn't want to hear it and walks off. Then, an attractive woman comes in for a business interview. Josh leaves for a call and Cassie watches the woman checking him out. She tells the woman that the job isn't for her and escorts her out. Josh is amused that she's so jealous, but she says that she's not jealous because, to be jealous, you have to be insecure. He tells her that she has nothing to be insecure about because she is going to be a full partner in the business.
Beth has just gotten back from New York and, while preparing to go to dinner with Alan, slips off to make a quick call to Rick. He doesn't answer and she leaves a message. Little does she know that Alan was present during the call and turns around startled to see him there. She tells him that she was just talking to her mother. Alan is pleased to hear it and says that he looks forward to some 'good old-fashioned family togetherness.' Beth grows even more perplexed when he tells her that she 'is a real asset' and he doesn't know what he would do without her.
Tammy is having a nightmare where she tries to call Jonathan, but only finds him with Lizzie saying, repeatedly in a zombie like fashion, that 'the baby comes first.' She turns around and catches her own reflection: She's an old woman waiting for Jonathan, saying that it wasn't supposed to be this way.
Mel and Rick are raking the yard. They've also managed to trick Remy into helping out by telling him they are going to play football. Mel slips away for a moment to make a call to the hotel about the room key she found in Rick's jacket. She's interrupted when Leah starts a leaf fight. As they play, Tammy appears and is asked to join in. As they get ready to play touch football, Rick gets his message from Beth but ignores it. They play and Remy tackles Tammy; they touch in a more than friendly way. After the game, Mel takes Remy aside and says that she's worried about him getting involved with Tammy. Remy responds that Jonathan is just a loser and is with Lizzie now so he won't get in the way. Rick then invites everyone, including Tammy, to come out to dinner.
A distraught Jonathan goes to visit Reva, worried that he's losing Tammy. Reva assures him that she'll fix this if it's the last thing she does. She says that she's already left a message with Alan and is going to convince him to back off. Jonathan is unconvinced and Reva collapses. He begins to question her about her health and asks if he can help her. She says, reluctantly, that she just needs help with one thing: Her medicinal marijuana, she' not sure she's smoking it right. He happily helps her out, but she won't let him have any: 'Do as I say, not as I do.' He tells her that it's a little late for the drug talk. While she continues to smoke the joint he rolls her, he laughs hysterically as she gets more stoned. She tells him some stories about her life and he says that her life is 'like a bad country and western song.' Then, she tries to count how many last names she could have had and gets lost, finally realizing that she is really stoned. She gets excited and wants to call Alan, who she keeps calling 'anal Spaulding.' Jonathan doesn't think this is a good idea, but she won't listen. Beth picks up and is baffled by Reva's wasted rambling, Alan doesn't want to talk to her either, but is forced into it. Reva demands that they all have dinner together to talk about the future and they reluctantly agree.
When Reva and Jonathan get to the restaurant, they stifle laughs; he, still uncertain about being there, she, overly enthusiastic. Lizzie appears, instantly flabbergasted by Reva's demeanor, even after Jonathan tells her that she's stoned. She starts talking to Lizzie's belly until Alan and Beth show up. When they sit down, Reva starts calling Alan 'the devil.' She tells Alan that he has to stop spying on Lizzie and Jonathan, but he retorts that she is in no position to be giving him advice. She insists that, no matter what, she can still fight. Alan insists though, that, what the baby will need is a stable and mature influence. Reva continues to ramble until Beth cuts her off, telling her that she is making a fool of herself. Reva shoots back: 'Well, you're the one sleeping with Alan.' They begin to compare lists about whose side of the family is more depraved. Alan even points out how Reva has never been there for any of her children and has demonstrated only self-obsession in her life. When Alan gets to Tammy and Jonathan, Jonathan tells him to leave her out of it, but 'that will be hard', says Alan, as Tammy enters the restaurant with the Boudreau family.
Tammy is disturbed by the Spaulding 'family get-together', but Remy tells her that they just look like the Addam's family. Rick gets yet another call and, seeing Beth by the bar getting wine for dinner, goes over to speak to her. He's worried about Jonathan telling the whole town about them, even though Beth insists she can take care of him. Rick says that it's over, though Beth protests that he needs their relationship as much as she does. He abruptly ends the conversation, stating that 'no, Mel is everything I need now.'
Alan is trying to find a way to get out of the dinner, but Reva won't stop talking to him and begins to touch his face. Instantly, he smells the marijuana on her and begins accusing her and Jonathan of all-and-sundry. Lizzie says that she only smells fabric softener. Reva spots Tammy getting up to go to the washroom and, purposefully, spills her wine onto Jonathan's lap to give him an excuse to follow behind her. However, when he catches up with her, and kisses her, she pushes him back and tells him, distressedly, that she can't do this anymore.
