    Tragic ending.

Zina Feeley, 66, who was known professionally by her maiden name, Zina Bethune, died early this morning, Feb. 13, in the Griffith Park neighborhood of Los Angeles after being struck by two cars. Bethune was apparently trying to help an injured animal in the road. She had appeared on numerous soaps, including “Guiding Light” as Robin Lang (1956-1958) and “Santa Barbara” as Dr. Priscilla MacIntosh (1986).

According to the "Los Angeles Times", she had pulled over to check on the animal, later found to be a possum. Leaving her car running, she walked into the road and was hit by a car, which threw her onto the other side of the street. She was then hit by a second car, which dragged her 600 feet. That car left the scene and has yet to be identified. Bethune suffered severe head injuries and died on the scene.

In addition to her soap career, Bethune was a well-known ballerina, having trained under George Balanchine and began performing with the New York City Ballet at age 14. She had numerous guest and recurring roles on television shows throughout the years, like "CHiPs" and "Party of Five". She also appeared with Harvey Keitel in Martin Scorcese's fist film "Who's That Knocking on My Door".

Police are asking the public’s help in finding the second driver. Contact the Los Angeles Police Department at (877) LAPD-24-7.

Soaps.com sends condolences to Bethune's friends and family.
