    While renovating at Harley's with Remy and Mel, Mallet wonders if Clayton was serious about his offer to buy the house for his children to live in. Marina's unsure. Remy and Mel tell them that they have been pushed to live together since they left home.

    Mel and Remy go to Company to get something to eat and begin bickering about mushrooms. They laugh and decide that they can't live together. Since his father heard about him delivering a baby, he's developed high hopes for him. He wishes that his father thought he had less potential; he'd expect less that way. She teases him about becoming a doctor and he throws rolls across the room.

    Blake and Mel go to visit Cassie. They eat ice cream and talk about doing a beach trip. Cassie thanks them for trying to cheer her up. When she gets up, she spots her divorce papers poking out of Mel's bag. The women freeze up. Cassie insists that she is fine; she just can't believe that Grady and Alan are going to walk but she's sure Jeffrey did all he could. Blake wants to go out for martinis but Cassie says she has a doctor's appointment. She repeats to Mel that she is confident that the divorce is the right thing and it's a done deal.

    At Company, Mel argues with her mother on the phone about what to do with Remy. Alexandra arrives and sits with her to talk about brother troubles. Remy arrives, apologizing for being late. He tells her that he is not going to explode for losing his son. The siblings sit at a table. She worries about him and tells him that a security position has opened up at the university. He won't work around his father and explains that he is going to get his old EMT job back.

    Mel bumps into Beth at Company. Mel notices her legal books and tells her that she is teaching one of the courses she has signed up for. Beth tries to apologize for what happened with Rick but Mel isn't impressed.

    I am Upset.

    Josh and Cassie go to Mel and she draws up the standard papers. She thinks they are going too fast and suggests they seek counseling. Josh explains that they've already been to a counselor. Mel needs a reason to file. Cassie says they have "irreconcilable differences". Josh agrees that's what they have. Mel wonders how that can be. They explain that they aren't the same people who fell in love anymore. Neither expected it to end this way. They discuss the children. Cassie will retain custody but Josh will remain the adoptive father. Mel leaves to file the paperwork. Cassie thanks him for doing this so quickly. She just wants her time left with RJ to be happy. He drives her home and promises that he will be there to look after the children as much as he can. "I think Reva and I have a chance and I'm going to make a go of it," he informs her. She thanks him for telling her. He says he'll be around if she needs him and walks out.

    Remy calls his sister to tell her that he has been buying the baby diapers. He asks for a referral to a pediatrician in Chicago. He plans to move there with the baby and Ava. She reminds him that it's not that simple. "We're going. Nothing can tear us apart," he says.

    Lizzie takes Bill over to Cedars. He is still prepared to use his resources to fight for his son. She's sure he is setting himself up for a fall. He compares what he is doing to Alan and Phillip. She doesn't think that's a healthy comparison. A doctor calls him in and tells him that Max is now in distress. Olivia rushes in, demanding to know what is going on. Bill tells himself that everything will be fine. Mel calls Remy and tells him that he has to get to the hospital now.

    Reva and Jeffrey arrive to see Olivia. Bill and Lizzie rush in and worry. Mel walks out and says that she needs to find her brother. Bill stutters and begs her to tell him what's happened. She cries as she explains that the baby couldn't resist infection and is gone. She leaves to find her brother. Jeffrey comforts Olivia. Bill cries in the corner. Lizzie asks him if there's anything she can do. None of this makes sense to him. "Sometimes feelings don't make sense. They just are," she says.

    Remy goes to the chapel to pray. As he lights a candle, his sister arrives. Looking at her, he knows what has happened. She throws her arms around him. They weep. She brings him back to the waiting room. Bill looks at him and then walks out. Remy cries and fumbles with his things. He tells his sister that he was going to be a good father. "He looked at me and I swear he knew who I was," he sobs.
